Hunter pet wont hold agro any longer

Just go on to play with the new hunter buff (yeah right) and I have pulled 20 mobs and every mob gives chase. I basically have to kite every damn mob now. Was this part of your intended buffs you gave hunter today?

I have tried with half the mobs letting pet get two growls off before even doing any dmg beside serpent sting and auto attack. And as soon as I hit with chimera or aimed they always break from pet and chase me.

Hunter same mobs I have been and didnt have any issues till your wonderful buffs you gave out

it was 10% you’ll be fine.

I’ve always pulled aggro from my pet the only thing that stopped it was the force taunt from the rune.

What??? You actually have to fight mobs now?

I’d recommend setting growl to a keybind and using it after you pull aggro from your pet, so your pet can taunt.

You may also wish to keybind your other pet abilities and not use them on auto so you ensure you have enough focus to taunt with your pet when you know you’re about to pull threat.

At one time in the long ago, my hunter did ridiculous damage, and I never took aggro after the first growl hit.

Gotta wait for 5 sunders before attacking

Nothing is different if you were already using Chimera Shot. MM does have this issue though, I started as MM last night and noticed how bad it is.

This is how Hunter always worked in vanilla. You have to throttle your dps for it to hold threat.

Haven’t played SoD hunter yet so if it could hold aggro before that’s cool. Sorry to hear it’s back to how it always was I suppose.

I have played a hunter for 15 years, this is not how it has always been, my pets have always been able to hold agro unless I front load a ton of damage or I get a massive crit. I am not front loading damage. They should be able to hold agro at some level. Something just seems off

The Beast Mastery rune also makes Growl an actual Taunt, so that’s a relatively large change, imo.

I’m not sure, but I had no issue holding aggro on bosses in BFD with my cat tonight.

Make sure your pet is fully trained. I would start there… you didn’t mention it in your post.

Tell us you haven’t been playing hunter for 15 years without telling us you haven’t been playing hunter for 15 years.
