My pet fits my theme of squig herder, but I dont always want a tank pet. Is there a way to transmog looks for pets onto other pets? If not why not?
Because they decided to take away our ability to have our pets be whatever spec we wanted. They didn’t like pets being a “transmog” or a “skin.” They wanted “meaningful choice” from our pets. So we got screwed.
The only way to sort of have a choice of pets is to be BM, have two pets, and make your second pet (which will always be dps, because you don’t control it) whatever you want as the first slot in your stable.
Honestly, that was one of the dumbest things they did removing the ability to make any pet any of the 3 specs we wanted. Really took away player freedom.
And the funny thing about that is I can’t make a meaningful choice because of how pets are currently set up.
I use a clefthoof on all my Hunters because it’s the best solo pet (unless that was nerfed while I was gone) despite the fact I would rather use other pets for rp/lore reasons.
My orc looks good with a clefthoof but on my belf I would rather use two mana wyrms, which in my opinion makes more sense for a belf than a stupid clefthoof.
Also, I really wish they would do away with the mechanical family. For example: Sabertron should be a cat, Juggernaut a scorpid and say the phalynxs spirit beast so that way my Mechagnome Hunter could have different kinds of mechanical pets. They would still require the tome to tame like undead pets.
Probably the least fun move they ever did with hunter pets. I want my options back.
I’m the opposite and use the pet that looks best and then I suffer for it, which is just bad design.
This topic really gets me ruffled (can’t help it; been a Hunter for 17 years.)
We can’t level our pets anymore.
We don’t’ feed our pets anymore.
We have 200 slots in our stable.
But yet picking a pet that matches our transmog or a pet we’ve had since level 1 (10 for us old people) is crossing the line for “meaningful choice.” Yeah it sure means something to me when I use the pet some theorycrafter told me is the best so I don’t get yelled or laughed at for using what I want
I want to put wings on my hunter pets that are not birds.
There was the essence swapper for Hati during Legion, but that’s just one of dozens of customizations for classes they’ve thrown out when it didn’t immediately work.
Oi! Yuz tink squig aren’t the bestest? Yuz askin to get krumped.
Close enough to how greenskins talk.
Dis git gets it
Did NOT work? How was it any worse then having to go tame TWO of the same pet, instead of just using the toy and boom, matching pets.
My wife likes to use the fire turtle, which is a rare spawn, took her forever to finally get 2 of them, when she HAD a matching pair back in legion due to the swapper.
p.s. Not yelling at you or anything, just annoyed at some of the silly things blizzard changes, like completely giving up on even trying to fix warlock’s wraithguard’s 2 hand.
Yep, Blizz is lazy basically. I was ecstatic to finally be able to tame undead skeletal hounds only to find out 1. the most unique models don’t even keep their usual open-world appearances (Sanguifang and the like like the larger dogs) and 2. they were all locked to the hound family (with no leech or HoTs) even though:
And some of them even use the wolf animations for rigging…
Hounds of this model use the wolf howls and scratching animations.
i would like to give my animal companion a new pair of jeans
Man, i wish.
Ya know what the REALLY sad part is? WoW is like one of the few rpg (mmos included) video games where you can go out and tame practically any animal ya want. It’s such are rare thing in games without some major limitation like “certain animals per tree” or “themed around the expansion the class was introduced in” or “bear wolf boar bird cat giant arthropod sometimes badger”. So to have such a large selection of beasts and then have it so only one or two are “useful” really grinds my gears.
I’m still annoying with Blizzard over this. One of my hunters spent ages getting two Ghostcrawler crabs and they are now not good for soloing (due to losing the leech).
Rawr!
One day…
Why can’t hunters have at least one full woodland hunter mog? I’m thinking camo pants and top, a neon blaze orange vest… camo cap… bushy lil vines and leaves and foliage dangling over their shoulders and head… Maybe some face paint, etc.
Just a random thought.
