Yer, the bug sucks. Hope it gets fixed. Reminds me of early wod when growl wasnt atto turned off in duggs and the “ong, hunter growled” times
All we can do now is hope people (mostly tanks) know about it and hunters to ne on tje ball with trying to tirn it back off (if thats even possible)
Wonder if lock pets have the same problem or if its only a hunter bug
I haven’t noticed my pets pulling aggro/taunting in m+. Now open world they are taunt machines.
Oh no, I am not upset at the hunter. I usually mention it and they typically switch pets or dismiss, usually its not an issue, but you get those random hunters who throw every curse word at you when you tell them its taunting.
Well it does matter becasue some tank rely on incoming dmg for rage regeneration and some others rely on attacking mobs for passive dmg abilities. But yes in most cases it does split the mob up and tends to screw things up.
Well I have to disagree with you. When I see the taunt animation go off over the mobs head, Immediately dropping aggro on that one mob when Omen is saying that I am 200% aggro with everyone else at less than 80% aggro. Yes it is a known issue and I started this thread in hopes blizzard would see it among the bug reports. I’ve been tanking for 15 years on multiple classes and its always the same.
2 points to address:
Firstly: I too experience this bug, how I even realized it was in, (Forget which dungeon but was the same spot everytime.) My growl is off, but once in a while (same spot) It’’ be cast despite not being on. I have to right click it on, then off again and it usually won’t taunt again throughout the dungeon.
Secondly: I was soloing heroic plaguefall for the mount the other day. On the boss that jumps around with the lake of green, my pet decided he didn’t want to growl. (Even when it was on.) I died 5 times trying to get growl to to be automatically used. (I had to click it everytime I wanted him to growl.) Again, it happened when I got to that boss. The first boss and trash pulls had no issue casting growl.
Now, (currently,) I am running through mythic Kings Rest and again my pet will not Taunt unless I click it.
Is this some bug or something I may doing that is triggering this… Inconvenience? (I am not against blaming an addon but I want a root cause before addons start being blamed.) xD
Can’t you MD on your pet and FD if pet taunt isn’t triggering?
pet taunt has been bugged for over a year.
while leveling, every time you level up when in a dungeon, growl auto-cast automatically turns on, but the ability still appears to be turned off.
if you pay attention you will see your pet taunting on CD. You have to toggle auto-taunt on then off again to make it stop.
over a year without a fix.
The speed at which I pull aggro off my pet (for lack of taunting) is faster than the FD cooldown. :(. (Not that I won’t actively attempt to time this on the boss.) If anything, I have a new challenge on that boss now: Kill him and keep redirecting him to my pet
