When flying anywhere and I land I have to call my pet again. Is this a bug or how it worked before?

This is normal and consistent with classic.

I leave with an Aspect buff on a flight, and when I land I don’t have the buff, I have to reapply an Aspect. Is that normal?

Cheetah is removed when you mount
And that’s wrong too, Aspects should only get removed if you change your Aspect or you cancel the aura

Aspect is removed when you mount added in 1.4.0. We are on 1.12.0

if you go afk on a flight path do you really want your pet out to start losing happiness when you land
This is actually a good thing. That way when you go train and do stuff in the city, you get to basically dismiss your pet without losing happiness and your pet won’t lose happiness while you’re just running around doing non-combat stuff. Gives you a break from your pet just rummaging around your pack for food constantly.
