Hunter Pet 'point allocation' for skills

I got Shy’Rotam (with help from some really cool people) as my cat pet. I know the cat doesn’t have any special abilities, it just looks cool. However, I am curious as to the best way to use my training pints. This pet will be for me when I quest solo. I will get a wolf for group and thinking along the lines of a spider or scorpid (poison dot on rogues) for pvp.

I found a pet calculator online and so far I used 25 points for bite rank 8 (I know that could be a problem since I need to get a worg from LBRS), 25 points for claw rank 8, 15 points for dash rank 1 (I think 40% is good enough), 50 points for rank 6 natural armor (+430), and 185 points for rank 10 stamina (+40).

I can live with rank 7 bite (even tho seeing the 4 left over points will drive me crazy haha), but I am curious if I should focus more on natural armor or keep stay with more hit points.

Any thoughts?

Edit #1: Obviously not level 30 haha, just dinged 60 earlier today.

I personally don’t like two damage dealing abilities like bite and claw, your pet will be out of focus very quickly and wont have enough to spend on growl.

For a cat I would take claw only then maybe dash.

That’s a good point. I thought about that later after I posted the question. I am not full BM so I don’t have points in pet resource regen. Also, not having bite would give me more points to spend in nat armor too.

Thanks for input, Widdar. I’ll have to get that calc again and see what I can get in place of bite, maybe I can get one more rank in nat armor.

Keep bite/claw. You always want both on pretty much any pet you pick up, If you’re dropping anything you should drop armor in place of higher ranks of bite/claw and put the rest into higher stam
