sadly no shadow dmg for lupos, but theres plenty of of good pets still to tame

He was fixed. So you can get other pets without missing out I n one pet everyone had to have.
Hopefully they haven’t messed with the speeds. Brokentooth seems to be more of a PvP pet choice
I found THIS post from Jan 5 2006 and if you scroll down to the last post where they talk about the Lupos nerf that happened in patch 1.9.
Given that we have already gotten confirmation that Blizz will be using the 1.12 versions on game systems like these we can be certain that Lupos will be doing physical damage not shadow damage
I think brokentooth still has 1.00 attack speed
