By the Devs logic. You need to be at 450 for the benefits of this adjustment to take effect. If you have all higher lvl armor but a ghetto weapon. Whats the result?
Yes, but they accidentally buffed those abilities by 32.5% earlier the same day.
So, the hump represents fun. The return to baseline represents the Fun Hammer.
While youâre at it Nerf Paladins too⌠Only class in the game that as never been touch, and most players are not okay with this. Do the same to Paladins, a 25% attack damage reduce⌠and also reduce their self-heals by 25%. While you devs nerf everyoneâs class Donât forget Paladins
Hunter got to be strong for⌠5 days. While they let other classes go broken for frakking Seasons! Hunter must just be a afterthought as a joke to Blizzard at this point. Embarassing.
They did, but it was after they accidentally buffed BM damage.
Yes. Also SV, for the impacted abilities.
This change wasnât about BM at all. It was about Hunter pet special abilities not parsing correctly as Augvokers buffed (and attributed) damage. In order to fix the parsing issue, they changed how the damage is calculated.
It used to be BaseDamage + AttackPower * (1 + 0.29 * PetCoefficient)
. PetCoefficient is there because the ability didnât scale from weapon damage, and they wanted those abilities to deal enough damage to be worthwhile.
They changed it to BaseDamage + AttackPower * ((1 + 0.29 * PetCoefficient) + (1 + 0.29 * Weapon damage coefficient))
. This allowed it to parse properly.
However, since they didnât account for the existing PetCoefficient in the formula when they updated it, the parsing change also accidentally buffed those abilities by a lot.
This change is them realizing that Weapon Damage scaling is a good thing generally, so they want to keep that, and they need to nerf the abilities by roughly how much they were accidentally buffed.
Math is hard. Please show this magical mumbo jumbo in the form of pictures.
Iâm gonna use pretend numbers to make it easy. Imagine Kill Command does 1 Base Damage, I have 100 Attack Power, the extra pet coefficient is 32.5, and my weapon does 33 DPS.
Old:
1 + 100 * (1 + 0.325) = 133.5 Damage
New (bugged):
1 + 100 * (1 + 0.325 + 0.33) = 166.5 Damage
New (fixed):
1 + 100 * (1 + 0.33) = 134 Damage
Make sense?
Note that if you have a weapon that does more than 33 DPS, in this scenario, the change is a slight buff.
Please and thank you. I can remember how to beat every single videogame Iâve ever played. But, as I get older, I find that I have to actually practice math.
Water Temple of Zelda Ocarina of Time for example. I see that in my sleep.
That was so insanely frustrating as a kid.
Indeed. Nintendo has some of the most devious Devs in the world.
What was fun about doing unintended damage for 15 hours on a random Wednesday?
What are you talking about?
Bm was strong on Tuesday when the season started. They got an unintended buff on Wednesday. That unintended buff was fixed on Wednesday.
Away with you Demon Hunter. Go back to your Eye Beans, Chaos Headbutts and Blade Karaoke (dance). Leave us poor hunters alone. We have only enough food to feed one of our one hundred stabled pets.
Ight, i ran 2 keys, this feels TERRIBLE lol.
meanwhile DHS are doing insane damage with the same gear.
Good job again blizzard, good job shafting us ONCE again.
It sure doesnât feel like a buff.
Get a better weapon then.
It feels the exact same (and performs the exact same) as Tuesday November 14th, except now there is weapon scaling
I dont know man, i dont know if the evoker we had wasnt playing, but i wasnt feeling it.
I used a hypothetical equation with made up numbers to illustrate how the changes happened. Please do not in any way correlate my post to actual damage numbers.
So⌠you fixed mend pet / revive pet bug Iâm assuming since youâre already at it nurf batting us Hunters again then I take it.
We are the forgotten red headed stepchildâs of the WOWâs
