Hi all!
I’m a casual player who is more than a little fickle and am having trouble deciding on what class to play. I’ve leveled both to just before pre-Shadowlands level and seem to like both. Just haven’t played with covenant abilities for either.
I mainly do very casual things, never going beyond heroic raids historically. I do like to do random BGs as well.
Mechanically and overall fun wise, any input? I realize it’s subjective but would love to hear if anyone else decided between the two…
I dislike both those classes but if I had to choose, always go for the class that can tank. Trust me on this.
In 16+ years, druid is the one class I have never played.

I’m currently playing my druid because I can stealth and go afk. He’s undergeared and on a dead server, so the quests take a long time, but I can stealth and go afk.

Either is good.
Hunter is more fast paced. Druid can stealth around everything if you dont like having your time wasted with world trash.
Druid is also faster if you want to farm…instant travel form change…no mounting every time. Seconds saved after every farm adds up pretty quick

Beast Mastery Hunter would suit you best
So simple rotation, you can do the rotation while moving if needed
I love the concept (and versatility) of druids, but I just can’t get into it. Hunter is really fun, though. I’m not usually ranged classes, but the way BM plays is nice, with all instant attacks. I am a fan of the melee hunter, too.
Hunter.
I played a druid from end of WotLK until I deleted her about three months ago when I realized I hated playing her since WoD (except for Argus, because of stealth/prowl.) I was leveling her out of habit.
(My Shaman is beginning to fall into this valley, but it has full enchanting and inscription, so is now parked at Org AH.)
I play both Druid and this Hunter.
I think good combos to play are
Warrior/Shaman
Paladin/Priest
Hunter/Druid
Monk/Rogue
Demon Hunter/warlock
Death Knight/mage

I dislike both but for casual stuff, both do their job and are capable.

Personally I find hunters to be very boring. At least BM, MM is okay. The “new” melee survival is the only spec I’ve never tried in game. But if you like the idea of having a pet and basically collecting them (especially the unique ones) then its an appealing class that can actually offer a lot of additional side content for casuals.
Druids are fun. Personally Bear is my go to when I want to tank. You get a lot of diversity in a single class since you can basically do everything. That said, Feral (their melee DPS spec) is probably my least favorite in the entire game.

I got my Hunter to 60 and max renown (Beast Master), while my Druid languishes at 35 as my bank alt. The rotation for Boomkin is really boring, and Feral requires positioning for best effect, which is also why I don’t play rogue.
Hunter isn’t especially exciting, but there’s more to it than just send in the pet.
Druid. Yeah I’m a little biased but Balance is better in raids. And the class can play every role man.
I have never played a hunter at cap and don’t plan to unless they become OP like BFA BM again.
If you’re in it for casual transmog, Hunter.
Druid, you rarely see your character.
Hunter, you get a bonus accessory in your choice of pet - a boon that no other class has an equitable answer to.

Eh… I would say what do you want out of the game?
With a hunter you get a content demolisher. Once you’re kitted out in decent gear, you can expect to solo any and all world content up to and including all but the nastiest world bosses. Hunters are consistently good choices for M+ and raid dps and can hold their own in PVP. The only downside is that while it’s an easy class to learn, not many take the time or effort to actually master it. A lot of people have very negative experiences with hunters (BM in particular) and won’t hesitate to throw shade your way.
Druids can simply do anything. They’re a transformer. Want to tank? Heal? Melee or Ranged DPS? They do it all. And they do it well. They’re also comfortable in any type of content. They’re probably more flexible that way than any other class. Don’t believe me? Try fighting a good druid in an arena match. They just laugh at you. The only downside is that you may wind up carrying multiple sets of gear.

Ex hunter main, switched to druid and never looking back.
-
Has a spec for every role, melee dps, ranged dps, tank, and healer
-
Has stealth
-
Has offheals and Rebirth
-
Class hall teleport on a 1 min cd with dalaran portal to get you to stormwind also multple portals to places across azeroth
-
Instant mount form with class hall mount being an upgrade to your current flight form making it a 2 seater
-
Feral and boomkin are known for doing crazy damage, and tank spec makes it easy doing world content like questing to pull multiple mobs and never die.
-
If you’re a herbalist, you can gather herbs while in flight form without having to worry about dismounting

It really comes down to personal choice. Idk how ppls opinions could help you sway either way.
Why not both? xD
Personally, I would pick Druid. Four specs. Stealth is awesome. I could go on and on.
Play both, its MORE fun that way
