Do you think the one button hunter Macro will be valid with the new client?
Maybe, hard to say. We won’t know until Beta really. I personally hope it doesn’t work
what does a one-button hunter macro entail?
It would be nice if it works because that let’s the hunter focus more on other things, but not a big deal if it doesn’t. I’m sure there will be an add on made if it doesn’t work that will make a sound when the hunters auto shot goes off to tell him to use steady shot made if the macro doesn’t work, as it’s already 90% done with weapon swing timer and would just need a sound que added .15 seconds before auto shot goes off because by the time we react to the sound and hit steady shot it will be time to hit it due to average human reaction speed+game lag.
It will be nice if it works, but won’t be the end of the world if it doesn’t. I personally like to focus on using the hunter class utility over damage anyway.
Be the token Survival Hunter and never have to bother with the macro.
Basically it’s a cast sequence macro that will use steady shot and kill command (and send pet attack, depends on how you want to set it up I personally prefer to manually control pet instead of having it in macros) while also ensuring you don’t interrupts your auto shots.
I’m considering going SV actually lol, as it is also VERY strong for heroic runs due to the absolutely stupid amount of CC it brings. But we will have to see if heroics are hard as well or in their 2.4 nerfed state (they only mentioned unnerfing raids so far).
With a trapping set you can CC all you need as BM
I thought they killed that off via some patch during TBC.
Back in BC I raided as Survival because I wasn’t really a fan of BM.
Example:
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=2.11 Steady Shot, !Auto Shot
It’s to help with auto shot clips and steady shot.
I hope it works becuase if not timing shots with haste procs and other things will be a cluster show hassle and will be clipping like crazy.
Yes and no, as SV you can literally have 3 trapped and 2 asleep with readiness, BM can get up to 2 traps on a pull and sustain one being trapped.
The bm trapping 2 on pull “should” be enough for most groups, but I do like to confuse tanks by CCing every mob in a pull and them wondering what they are supposed to tank because everything is CCed. It’s funny when they realize just what a good hunter can do and usually end up with me on a friend’s list because I can make heroic farming easy. I did this in cataclysm heroics as well. And I had constant requests from tanks, healers, and other dps to do heroics with them lol.
What’s this new engine, and where can I learn more about it?
Sadly even with haste procs the macro doesn’t protect against clipping.
It’s bases the reset of the cast sequence on your attack speed (+.1) so when you get a haste proc your attack speed changed.
This means you need to have multiple macros to use under specific haste effects if you want to min max. Example
Standard attack speed you have 2.3 so you make a macro with 2.4 cast sequence delay.
Rapid fire you have 1.9 (not exact just giving an example on these) so your rapid fire macro is a 2.0 csd.
Bloodluat you are at 1.8 so 1.9 csd.
Bloodlust and rapid fire you are at 1.0 so 1.1 csd.
This is of course if you want to absolutely min max. But any haste effect past 1.0 attack speed won’t be benefiting to you due to the global CD (or was it 1.5gcd in tbc, can’t remember lol, but you get the point)
Modern client
sv still does the steady shot auto weave they just throw a arcane in every one in a while
From what I am seeing arcane shot won’t be needed for maintaining exposed weakness. The 2.4 talent doesn’t require arcane or aimed shot, just a ranged crit.
Arcane will be useful for the 2.4 dispell effect though.
Me too.
So when I parse 99s I earned them!
Any update on this from the beta?
