I am looking at starting a hunter. I have not played hunter past level 10 in classic.i will be playing on a pvp realm as well.
What’s a good spec(talent points) to level?
are they fast levellers for solo? Can they farm well? Is there lots of down time?

BM is the best leveling spec. Let your pet kill stuff while you auto shot and you’ll have almost no down time
If you’re on a PvP realm that is not lopsided. I would start with MM first, to get the talent that increases the range of your ranged attacks to 36 or 40 yards (can’t recall of the top of my head).
I’d say MM or Survival, they’re more fun to play; but, I am also speaking from a WotLK perspective on hunters.
I agree with this. BM is easiest to level with while solo questing. At 60 you should consider switching to mostly MM with some in SV for any hit% from Surefooted.
