Hunter Leaf Quest Questions and Comments

Ok got the Leaf on my Hunter turned it in and already had the Black Dragon Sinew off of Ony. Now I am started on my third day of farming Blue Dragonkin to get the Blue Dragon Sinew. Yes I know it turns into the BiS quiver, but do you have to have this to get the Legendary bow? I am seeing conflicting comments on some of the forums while trying to do the quests. Note Alt Hunter I am needed to heal on my Holy Paladin so I am never going to be able to take this one to BWL with the guild. She does have T2 helm and legs, and T1 or better everything else except weapon, and I am going through and enchanting everything.

Reasons for the questions is that on my server frankly all of the hunters are screaming over the low drop rate on the Blue Dragon Sinew. It is going for 700 + Gold on the AH and I don’t see dropping that much when I will also need Gold to do the demon kills. If you don’t need to complete the Blue Dragon sinew quest to get the bow, I am looking at completing the four demon kills with friends helping out on keeping down the adds and keeping others away and when I get the bow go after the sinew when I have time.

Suggestions and/or comments from others who have done the quest and know the way to go. Thanks,

The Demons are super easy to solo I found with a couple well known pathing spots and tricks available on youtube.

You do not need the Blue Sinew for the bow only for the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina, the BIS quiver.

Good luck! Probably my favourite quest to do in game.

I’m currently done everything on my hunter except the Black Dragon Sinew. Who would have known that Jail Break would be the hardest part!

like the other guy said you dont need the hunter quiver to get the bow. I watched videos on youtube and there are cheese methods for all 4 demons, which will teach you mob pathing you can apply to tribute runs. Its to late for this probably but if you get revered with AV the attack speed on that quiver is equivalent to the hunter quiver. It took me 22 hours of grinding AV to get revered but this was when the druid bug was still live so it could take longer now.

If you really want those 2 extra arrow slots you might just farm gold and buy sinew off the AH. At least that way the grind has a definite end point.

I killed what felt like thousands of those damn blue dragonkin. Everyday for like a month. Got it. Then like a week later passing though I agro’d one riding by, killed it and got a second.

Just get the AV rep for the 15% quiver, the difference is 2 ammo spots and you can still get a good ring (Don julios)

I just did the hunter epic quest, got it finished last night, took 2 nights. It SUCKED. Was a nightmare

The winterspring one, I had two different noobs interfere thinking they were helping me. Fairly confident they weren’t griefing, they were both 55-60 and apologized saying they didn’t realize it would despawn him (for 30 minutes apice, and at 1am when I just want to kill him and go to bed staying up an extra 1+ hours staring at the empty hole of space waiting for him to spawn was NOT fun)

I would almost recommend spamming /yell “do not help me with this mob” before you do it but that might actually incite griefers

The winterspring one other than that was fun, because you can do it legit

The burning steppes one, if you don’t want to have to just melee it forever and run to range to re-apply scorpid then you can cheese it with pathing exploit on the branch. I just decided to cheese it off the bat. Got ganked by 3 alliance first attempt who wanted their hunter to do it first, then next attempt I had a Druid running by who again tried to help me and despawned him and apologized

The ungoro one I heard from a guildie if you trap her pet and kite her far enough away from the pet, the pet despawns. NOPE. False. The pet will come find you across the entire zone. So I had to start kiting it and her. Took 2 major mana pots to kite both her and pet across half of ungoro avoiding all the Dino’s in the process. Semi-fun challenge, but that’s 10g in mana pots down the drain to do it

The easiest one was the one in silithus because I was just done with the enjoyment of the quest at this point so I recruited a lock to curse of reck me and it’s a joke then

I would say don’t be like me and angrily rush it in a night, because the bow is actually kinda anti-climactic when you get it, in terms of dps boost. And the staff is bad for PVE, good for PvP tho

Thanks all, I am having friends around to keep people from ‘helping me’ so I don’t have to spam ‘dont touch it’. I have heard on the Ungoro one, trap her kill the pet then feign death and the pet doesn’t respawn for a long time which allows you to kill her. Silithus I am probably going the Warlock curse as well.

I suggest not cheesing any of them. At the very least not until after you try it a few times. It is one of the most actually fun questlines in the game. Because it is one of the few that really punishes you for making mistakes.

the demons in burning steppes and silithis are super ez. you can cheese them with pathing once you u know how.

the demon in un goro crater is only slightly harder. just focus down the demon and ignore her pet. feign death and loot head, and you’re done.

welcome to winterspring where you actually could use some help. clear all mobs and then start the race to the road. keep up serpent sting, and focus upon keeping the demon at the proper distance. it will probably take a few tries, but you will get the hang of it…
