If we have follow removed from BGs(non-blizzlike), we have paladin reckoning nerfed, 1.12.1 talents and more why not just edit the game further?
Man this is so awful right now playing one. No cc other than 20/30 bm mm with intimidation +scatter, no defensives against spells, pet AI is bad. So this is what i brainstormed in the past 10 minutes
- Remove the cooldown from arcane shot. Just remove it. why is it even there? Make it like the Pre-cata wrath patch, no cooldown on arcane shot
This is literally why hunters and paladins do the lowest dmg possible, we are the only classes which rely on autoattacks as 70% of our damage. Other classes? Well, their autoattacks are just icing on the cake and their special attacks(MS, whirlwind, sinister strike) are actual dps abilties
So easy fix. Now we have an actual spammable ability too. I am sitting at half of mana waiting for my Multishot and arcane to come off CD…very fun.
If its too hard-coded in, another simple fix. Just take an NPC ability and give it to us. For example NPCs in SM have a ranged spell called immolation shot. Easy. Now we have an actual mana dump and do ACTUAL DAMAGE instead of relying on autoshots.
- Give us silencing shot from BC or something, like i said im playing BM+MM for scatter and intimidation and man half the time pet is either polymorped so i CANT intimidate and the other time im either too far away to scatter or they got a dot on them. gg. we dont have a single spell interrupt so a paladin can just braindeadly stand there and holy light themselves to full . and there is nothing you can do
You would never be able to afford to DPS with Arcane Shot, mana-wise, and it doesn’t scale with anything aside from Spell Damage. You should be using Aimed Shot instead of Arcane Shot because it actually scales with weapon damage.
Hunters don’t even do the lowest damage possible, and the only reason we’re so out-damaged by classes like Warrior/Rogue/Mage/Warlock is because we don’t benefit near as much from world buffs.
You shouldn’t need another interrupt with Intimidate + Scatter + Feign. You can also pick up things like Tidal Charm or the item from Stratholme that casts Counterspell if you really want to surprise people.

You’re not getting cherry picked balance changes for your class. I’d like the 5 hit from the fury page in BC, but guess what, I’m not getting that here either.

My auto attacks are juicy though I’ve crit like 600 with my staff before
you cant really use aimed sh1it in Bgs m8 standing still for 3 seconds

its a good spell against AI dont get me wrong
also traps are garbage you honestly shouldnt be using frost traps that much, fire trap>all

@OP… Learn to play hunter. You are clearly not doing it right.
Remove the hunter auto shot retry timer and make buffs time down while logged out.
Most of hunter dps problems are fixed overnight. And it makes the game harder.
Win win.
Since we are arguing about changes…
Make ap buffs scale with ranged. That alone would keep hunter dps competitive into Naxx.
Sadly, not if all the Hunters are expected to be TSA bots to buff the melee. Survival overtakes MM as the highest personal DPS at a certain Agility breakpoint, even losing the TSA buff - from what I’ve heard discussed anyway. But the over raid DPS loss isn’t worth it.
Guess I’m “garbage” 'cause I Trap and use Frost Ones, all the time, on my Survival Hunter while using Wyvern Sting to CC. But, you know, my play style, I guess

have you played pug bgs? It will either a)get broken instantly by a friendly rogue
or
b) get reflectored. We are lucky we dont get trapped by our own traps anymore, which is honestly nonblizzlike too
But ye wyvern sting is decent esp on horde but idk intimidation+scatter is best build for pug bgs imo, we already dont have enough CC as is
