Hunter feign death

I’ve been looking all over and just can’t figure out how exactly feign death works in regards to resists.

What is the chance of it being resisted? If my memory is correct it happened frequently against higher level mobs but even at level cap you’d get one occasionally. I never went far enough into survival to get the “improved feign death” talent.

Does this talent completely negate the chance against an equal level npc? What about “skull” level bosses? If anyone has some solid data on this topic I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Edit: Was also curious if anyone in beta has an update on hunter and warlock pet behavior. Have some of the oddities been worked out or any plans for them to resolved? Thanks again.

Short answer is that when it absolutely, positively, beyond a doubt must work, it will 100% be resisted.

It has the standard spell hit resist rate. Meaning you’ll get resists against raid bosses often.

(note that it’s broken right now in the beta and doesn’t drop combat, resist or no)

And since you asked about pets: They’re 90% fixed. They still have the obnoxious delay before actually doing what you tell them to, but even that was reduced (to ~400 ms instead of ~1000).

if they cannot get spell batching to work properly; remove it.

Common misconception, but it has nothing to do with batching. It was a BFA bug that made its way into classic.

My pets never reacted that way in BFA. Not once.

I haven’t played BFA; just relaying what people have told me. AFAIK it was a purposefully added delay to make macros not increase dps (since pets are really slow about using their abilities).

I want to say that same level or below level it would work a very high percent of the time, and if it was orange it woudnt work very often, maybe 50-50 , if it was skull, it woudnt work. maybe a small chance.

Thanks for the replies guys. Wish there was some hard data on this. Is the chance of a resist reduced with +hit?

Spell hit, not physical hit.

Ugh that’s what I was afraid of!

Mathematically: No, that’s not at all true!
Realistically: This person speaks the absolute truth.
