Hunter End Game Weapons

Why are the Hunter end game weapons crossbows? I myself prefer bows and find it odd that there is no bows that match or beat a crossbow.

If you like bows, use a friggin bow. Just swap to the crossbow on raid night or something…

My hunter is only using guns. He’ll have a bear as a pet.

Because crossbows are more accurate than smoothbore guns, and easier to master than bows

i think it has something to do with slow attack speed having higher wep dmg as well as it being easier to weave abilities in between autos
plus you use less arrows

My elf hunter uses a bow and a cat-like pet.
My troll hunter uses a bow and a dinosaur-like pet.
My dwarf hunter uses a gun and bear pet.

It’s style, dude. You gotta have style!

I personally with they were rifles. Or rather a rifle a bow and a crossbow that are equal in viability so you could pick and choose. But that’s one of the few big problems with Classic IMO. There’s no transmog. Still. We wanted no changes and we get no changes.

i totally agree with

Because crossbows are usually slow and slow weapons are king in Vanilla. There’s Bow options like Soulsting but they are too fast.

It is what it is. Like being a Horde rogue (or any rogue, it’s just less bad for humans) and wanting to use maces.

Because original devs didn’t give two craps about aesthetics or what was “optimal” really.

I agree. I feel like when I imagine a fantasy setting hunter, I imagine someone wearing a bow. Never liked all the end game Hunter weapons being crossbows

yeah bows seem to fit the theme of an agility class and crossbows seem more like a str weapon

I would be willing to bet that the original devs intended for hunters to use the bows and guns that are now considered melee stat sticks.

Much like we minmaxed warriors out of their preraid plate gear and into leather/mail, we have minmaxed hunters out of their bows and guns.
