Hunter Changes You Want To See

Hey guys, as the title states what would you like to see be added or taken away from our Hunters?

For me I would like to see
-Marksmanship’s Tenacious and Cunning choice node talents moved to the Class Tree.
-Targeted Trap options
-An updated Hunter’s Mark or a new raid buff that carries over to M+
-Ability to choose what special ability our pet has like Mortal wounds, triggered defensive etc.
-Improved pet AI, for instance pets get stuck on random objects and must be dismissed and resummoned during a big pull with lust. Maybe a new ability to summon your pets back to you instantly.
-As I have been a devout BM hunter since TBC I can’t speak on the other specs fluently but BM Pack Leader needs a better defensive for sure and Dark Ranger needs serious damage tuning.

They should just bring back Blink Strikes. It solves most of the pathing and “pet can’t follow a mob up a 6 inch ledge or over a gap in a platform” issues in one go.

  • Bring back wailing arrow for Dark Ranger - its utterly baffling such an iconic ability was removed in the first place. The Aimed Shot transforming into Wailing Arrow was perfectly fine.

  • Get rid of Aspect of the Hydra and just let trick shot work for 2 targets. The whole idea of sacrificing all AoE just to hit 2 targets is so incredibly brain dead it could have only been thought up by someone who has never actually played the game.

Ill throw out some wild ones.

Make survival a tank spec.

Give 2 charges of aspect of the turtle or 2 exhilaration charges since they gutted bms defensives with this crappy turtle proc.

Bring back stampede you cowards.

This is a big one for me—but more than that, what I really want to see is more ways to customize pets summoned by abilities across specs and hero talents.

I want to use beasts from my stable, ones I specifically curated for their looks, rather than these bland, boring, cookie-cutter creatures that are immutably tied to more and more abilities.

Not sure if this was said yet but it would be awesome if we could collect armour and and decorations for our pets, to customize them!

I tamed the armoured lynx and also the same model of lynx but without the armour and had the idea.

Really love the new and improved stable so I am hopeful maybe more could be done.

There is a glyph on the AH that allows you to use only your stable pets when summoning a dire beast, not sure if that’s what you meant, but it’s something!

Yes, that is exactly the essence of what I am asking for, but I am looking at broader applications. I would love the same kind of option to be available to all the skills that summon animals not just Dire Beast.

If Hunters were able to customize their pet in this way the forums would flood with the tears of all the Warlocks crying how Hunters get more love, and why do we get all these customizations for our pets.

Mmm… fel tears taste like sour apple.

  1. Ranged Survival.
  2. see above.
  3. More variety of options for our damage dealing abilities. Marks is constricted to “Do you want Volley or not?”.
  4. Revert 80% of the Marks overhaul.
4b) or for God’s sake bring Aimed back to 2.5 sec cast baseline and adjust elsewhere.
  5. Buff pet survivability and agro. Solo content is a core pillar of the endgame now, but tank specs and plate classes are patently overpowered in that sphere.
  6. Clean up the Class tree. Once again, riddled with bad talents, ironically making pathing easy as the number of viable builds is so narrow.
6b) Reduce the number of bland throughput talents in the class tree. There are 4 mandatory points in Row 7 alone.
6c) No Hard Feelings needs to activate when Misdirect is consumed, not casted. Too often the DR is entirely wasted because the pet is still en route and you are still lining up a shot when you pre-cast Misdirect.
6d) Kindling Flare, Ghillie Suit need changes to be worth taking.
6e) Trailblazer and Hunter’s Avoidance need to swap places. Trailblazer is a more general-purpose bonus that would be advantageous to low level hunters, Avoidance is mainly an endgame DR talent that would fit nicely at the bottom of the tree.
  7. Refer once more to 1).

But warlocks already can in the barbershop

Warlock players are just salty they cant tame demons, so any attention to our pets get them rallied up.

Warlock customizations are just different skins, they aren’t real customizations or different amors. There are already many different hunter pets that have different colors and some have amour and saddles.

I’d like a Beast Master spec akin to the Summoner Druid from Diablo 2, please! I miss having an entire zoo out mauling my enemies! Even better if they can be critters! Glyph of the Critter-Beast, maybe?

Stampede back- I know no one liked it but me but I’m a solo player and it was great as an “oh s h ! T” button

One thing that puts me off on MM since BFA is rapid fire ability, i liked marked shot play style.

Doesnt make sense that a archer can do machine gun shots, replace it with a sniper shot similar to aimed shot but have it be a proc ability that is a guarantee crit and have a 1.5 sec cast. When you hit it. Feels special and has impact.

Deadshot Arrow. 1.5 sec cast
Can only be cast when under the effect of deadshot ready
Guaranteed crit.
Has a proc chance to be instant cast

Talent can have Deadshot Arrow be a small chance to cause your eagle to appear and debuff your target causing a chance for your aimed shot to be instant cast

A better stealth toolkit. We can always be better stealthers.
