Hunter build for DF

I mostly do dungeons and so far I think the best build for such activies
For MM

Is really focus on AoE. Also some focus on serpent sting for ST. I feel MM hunter talent tree is pretty nice so far. You can focus on S/T or AoE and the path are pretty clear

For BM

It feels there are lots of point wasted in the BM tree when compare to MM. A lot of nodes are out of place

For SV

I feel like is missing a lot of stuff and it feels not great. The point of SV is to get bombs out and do massive damage but there aren’t that many talent to buff it.

Any suggestions?

It is FAR too early to be trying to determine meta builds. Having said that, looking at your BM tree you take both tar trap and concussive shot but not binding? Imp mend pet is a trap talent for PvE. No camo is maybe a missed opportunity, if these dungeons are as invis heavy as SL and BfA we’re then you want Camo.

Can’t really talk about the class tree because it needs a lot of work still. There’s still 3 point talents in the tree and neither of the side capstones has any meaningful effect on BM AE.

Having said all that you went the long way into kill shot resets. Without razor fragments that’s a really bad talent IMO, especially in dungeons. You would be better off specing into Qa’pla, and Bloodletting/AotW with those 3 points for AE damage.

Also, I wouldn’t write One with the Pack off just yet. With Stomp, the new Brutal Companion, and the recent Barbed Shot damage buff that talents value has gone up in AE/multi-dotting situations quite a bit.

There are some very questionable picks in both the class and spec tree if you’re thinking just about dungeons.

Class Tree

You skipped several very important picks: Camouflage, Hunter’s Agility, Intimidation, Binding Shot. You also skipped Sentinel Owl, which likely has the most utility in dungeons. I’m not sure why you would ever pick Improved Traps, Hi-Explosive Trap, or Rejuvenating Winds over any of the above options.

Something I see in the spec tree as well is that you’re not spending the maximum potential points in the bottom third – any reason for that? That’s where the vast majority of the damage is; you’re really hurting yourself with each potential point you don’t spend there.

Spec Tree

You wouldn’t take Fury of the Eagle or Ruthless Marauder in dungeons? Aspect of the Eagle is fine, but niche, Quick Shot is a single target talent that is probably skippable in favor of spending a point in Ranger. Why on earth would you ever take Sharp Edges over Sweeping Spear? Lunge is also a point that would be nice to take but probably not within the budget as the tree stands.

Totally agree with this. However, since we’re doing it anyway, this is what I think the Survival Mythic Plus tree would probably look like right now, with potentially one point taken out of Ruthless Marauder and put into Ranger.

I never really use Camouflage currently. Maybe I am use to inv pots to skip mobs but to use Camouflage you have to stay still which seems not the best options. Sentinel Owl I think is ok at its current stage coz now as MM or BM I don’t really to have line of sight issue so taking it seems a waste? Binding Shot seems like a miss coz I got a warrior friend who plays with me and he have the Kyrain spare so that seem more useful than Binding Shot at least on live. Hi Explosvie trap seems like is good in live. With the Kyrain spare, drop the trap and more AoE damage.

Not sure how will be in DF. but I feel like the MM tree looks pretty good vs the BM tree or SV. BM and SV seems to be a bit all over the place? MM seems to be more focus on ST or AoE so I am a bit confuse with BM and SV tree.

Just trying to see which class I should play. It comes down to Hunter, Warlock or DH. I main a hunter since BC days so I don’t really want to give it up but the talent tree so far seems Warlock and DH is better than Hunter.

That’s not how camo works. It’s a 1 min stealth with a 1 min CD that begins when the stealth expires. No only can you move in camo but you can also cast most non-combat abilities while in camo, think traps, cheetah, disengage, etc.

Binding Shot is a one of a kind ability in that it roots mobs but the root is unbreakable. No other root in the game works like Binding Shot.

Okieee! Good to know! Surprisingly I haven’t use those spells at all… got carried by friends all the way lol. Surprise on one ever call out for not using Camo instead I use inv pots to skip packs @@

Prob would do this (and would take something random in place of kindred)

For surv:
Dragonflight Talent Calculator - 10.0.0 Beta (wowhead.com)

Key Points:
Generic Tree
Hi-Exp trap will just piss off your tank, movee the point to binding shot, that actually has use.
Move the two points from Imp traps. Your not speccing into them, so its value is pretty low. Move the points to movement speed, that will be a better use to you.
Other then that the generic tree was alright.

Surv Tree:
Aspect of Eagle is extremely niche and that point could be used in sweeping spear, a much higher value talent.
Quick shot is pure single target AND arcane shot does like zero damage. For dungeons, move the point to the second point of sweeping spear where it will contribute to your rotation.
Move your point in lunge to Harpoon. 3 yards is ok only if you dont have anything else to sink points in, and harpoon is 10x better.
You really have a choice between sharp edges and killer companion. 4% crit is not all that worth it for 2 points as surv tends to favor haste more then anything. With the bomb build, you will have more phermone opportunities so the 10% increase dmg to kill command will probably produce more damage. However, sims will have to determine and tuning, of course.

Camo - depends on dungeon group - we have a rogue and use mass cloak, also invis pots works well

Binding shots - tis a must have on certain affixes as you toss that out and root mobs while tank runs and drops stacks, huge value

Tranq shot is great against Raging affix, can’t see passing that for M+

Class tree really needs to lose Binding Shackles, useless node for PvE and really useless if you have a pet out.

BM tree - still needs nodes to be dropped in value, speciffically;
Thrill of the Hunt - 2 points
Stomp - 1 point
Scent of Blood - 1 point

Probably also needs a couple more slashed
