Frost Nova works. They should be immune to all CC, as per tooltip

I use it, it always makes things much more reliable to land. FD was for sure more responsive in vanilla though.

I know, I’ve had multiple 60 hunters, and one of every other class.
It straight up doesn’t work. You could always /petpassive macro FD Trap and it would ALWAYS work.

Um… is anyone using Scatter Shot to pre-empt FD → Freeze? I remember trying to land a trap in melee without SS was a 50/50 proposition at best.

If anyone tags you with a slow, you’re dead now. That 10s reduction in frost trap’s duration based on a short-lived bug is a killer in PvP… so is the auto shot delay and FD failure rate.

People have tested this and tried to find out how to make it more reliable since beta. The best we have is a macro that only works some of the time due to how batching works in Classic.
