Hunter bugs

Growl seems to be delayed. You can serpent sting /petattack a mob with growl on and even at max range the mob will make it to my dead zone. My memory may be foggy but I don’t remember having to reposition after every single pull.
Auto attack also seems to be toggling off when a mob gets in my dead zone and I strafe away. I believe this is a bug since this doesn’t happen every time.
There also seems to be some chatter on a hunter thread about the scatter shot / feign death / freeze trap combo not dropping combat.

Growl works if you trigger it yourself, the auto cast seems to be delayed tho.
Keybind the action, default is control 5 or something, whack it as soon as pet hits the target.
Charge works as a workaround for delayed growl.

Autoshot definitely toggles off if you lose line of sight, that is a huge problem, impossible to jump shot kite, or even strafe kite.

Guess what brother hunter? At 32 you get the BOMB DROP, feign death to drop trap is not working properly. See the massive bug report on that getting longer by the hour as people level.

I had a mob 10 levels below resist a freezing trap today, probably supposed to be like that, ive just never seen it.

If i knew hunters would be this broken I would have rolled a mage. We already struggle as the Underdog class. Give us the tools to be what we are supposed to be, utility players.

When a huge Growling Rapadoodle is going for the healer, we need to be able to freeze that sumb*tch in a block of wizard ice!
Or the when EnthusiasticRouge but pulls half the room, a frost trap is nice, people are yelling at us for not dropping them.
our answer “Oh…uh…FD/Traps Iz Bugged , my dude” doesn’t go over well.

And when were running for our lives from an over geared warrior with an attitude problem, it would be nice to be able to keep shooting at them with something besides arcane shots.

Jump down, and pet doesnt run thru the instance, making lots of friends on its way back to you while your party members pull out their rudest emote macros, and either bubble, or get ready to die.

Experiencing the bugs and then reading about the FD bug makes me wanna reroll. I mained a hunter for pvp in vanilla and I don’t remember any of these bugs.

I don’t like the new smart pet ai. When I jumped off a cliff and then my pet suddenly appeared next to me I was surprised then upset. Part of being a good hunter was dismissing your pet before jumping down anywhere.

I was hoping to recapture the magic and dominate with the class since I still main it but I don’t think that’s happening.

They will fix it.

After a few hours i got used to it, the workaround is to use this macro-

/cast [combat] Feign Death
/cast pet passive
/cast Freezing Trap

Stop moving completely for half a second, and spam it.
That works most times, frustrating for wpvp, but thats what we have right now.

DO NOT RE Roll, complain with us squeaky wheels, til they get us some Fix-It-Grease.

The problem is, most of us are used to using THIS macro,

/cast Freezing Trap
/cast Feign Death

And spamming it, that wont work, its too sensitive.

…and what is with the weird leap frogging the pet and baddie do all the way to your deadzone? And why does my pet stand over the corpse after a kill for 4-8 seconds doing nothing instead of moving to the next target like I tell him or coming back to my side? Is he checking them for a pulse? I mean if he’s going to stand there for that long at least give him a “marking his territory” animation or something so it will at least be amusing.

I faintly remember Feign Death bugs VERY similar to what’s happening now, though mostly in terms of Delay and not quite as severe as the OP described. I think it was early vanilla, but I recall they fixed it next minor patch. It was painful, but eventually they took care of it. I hope they take care of this soon… it is VERY deterring to have a tool you can’t effectively use, that has a few other important tools that rely on it’s use to activate :T I can happily deal with all of the other bugs or “features” Hunters have… but not this one. This is a straight up deal-breaker.

your right, i dont like the new pet ai either. i did until I was in Gnomer and dismissed, jumped down, summoned on the sproket, and my piggly wiggly just stayed on the sprocket, couldnt dismiss, couldnt call it, just sat there til we got far enough away for it to despawn.

good enough tho, not game breaking
