being continuously spammed with “unknown unit” and “I need to get closer” repeatedly without end.
This is sooooo annoying. I have to play without game sound to make this bearable
…and this is all without pressing a key or mouse button?
Yeah, I think being in a dungeon triggers it after combat. It never happens anywhere else. Relogging seems to fix it.
Turn off errors in the sound menu

Are you using addons. This has been known to happen with the detail Addon.
If you are using it you have to go into settings and turn off Item Level Tracker and turn it off.
