I do this as well. I didn’t know it made me a bot. I find it pretty relaxing too. I gotta get my mount money somehow.
Not to say that none of these people are bots, but farming crabs for cooking makes you a bot now? What would even be the point of a bot farming these?
Sorry bulb.
I’ve seen plenty during classic. The hunters and mages, mostly - and late, the rogues as well.
People being dismissive to the reality is pretty much hilarious to me.
… or it’s me hunting for pearls
You seem to take everything at 100% face value, and don’t comprehend context.
If I were playing hardcore, I’d be more worried about staying alive than the economy of the server.
Thought I might have found one last night. I was farming some turtles and greater sage fish in Alterac for buff food supplies, and there was a hunter hanging out that kept sniping turtles right as I got to them.
Once they pulled a bit too much and had to feign, then sent me an angry whisper asking why I didn’t heal them.
I see multi boxers running around more than bots. The boxers annoy tf out of me by tagging everything in sight so i basically have to layer hop or change zones. Have seen and reported maybe 1 bot.
Whyd you post from a new alt? Just post from the same chars you do this same crap on.
Irony much?
Is the cliffhanger intentional? You get an advance on the sequel or something?
Not really much more happened. I just went on my way. Someone was at the computer so my assumption is that there weren’t botting.
The sequel should come in 2025, I need some more time to fluff the story up, make it more exciting.
The damage control bot handlers are likely here to disseminate attention to botting and give their other forum accounts likes and internet points. They have a vested financial interest considering they control tens of thousands of them across all versions of WoW. They manage bot attention like they do the auction house. Looking at how bad faith these trolls are is hilarious. Look up the Naxalt fallacy. “I ran into one hunter that wasn’t a bot doing this, therefore there are no bots.” or “I do this, therefore there are no bots” It’s just funny to see.
They definitely exist and make it as high as level 30. I’ve seen them around hillsbrad on horde side a lot.
They are usually trolls and they have weird names.
I’ve seen one on Skull Rock in Hinterlands, a dwarf hunter who was farming wolves outside Aerie Peak. I followed him a few minutes and even skinned the wolves before he could get to them, which would make the bot stand there for 5 extra seconds before turning and going after another wolf. Other than the suspicious gameplay that was the biggest tipoff. What player would let someone steal every one of their skins!
Put down the pipe.
Yea I add them to my char friend list. Jumped from 20 to 35 in just under 3 days. 2 of the 7 i watch are offline and only because they got mass report banned in high traffic westfall. 5 online 24/7 and auto behavior as i described earlier. I semi drone farm with split attention like some others mentioned so i look for somewhat neutral mob areas as well which is where you mostly see them.
I’ve seen a couple in Duskwood farming wolves. Their movements are robotic and follow along waypoints.
ie. move in straight line for 40-60 yards. Pause. Turn. Move in straight line. Pause. Turn. Attack anything coming within range of it. Loot. Resume cycle.
Yup, two of the bots i was somewhat keeping tabs on went to duskwood as well. Ashenvale has quite a few i see near the area north-west of the retreat. Ran into 6 characters and 3 of them were bots.
There are definitely bots. Facts.
You can’t determine how bad the problem is just by stalking people and making assumptions based on movement patterns an display names. Although its a strong case.
And you also can’t deny how convenient “layering” is for Blizzard when it comes to cleaning things up a bit. But alas…the defenders will do an say anything to defend their love ahem I mean video game.
