I have a long way to lvl 70 but once I get to it I plan on doing war mode and bg pvp. On that note what Hunter spec is good for that? I was also wondering if feeding your pet does anything for it?
Hmmm this doesnât check out. You arenât an elf named Sylvanas in some variant and no hunter plays PvP because they took out double tap
BM is S tier atm. Itâs really good. MM is okay but requires a higher skill cap.
While you are leveling, stick with BM.
When you hit 70 and want to do BGâs or WPvP for 1v1s then I think MM is the way to go, mostly because of the classâs lack of defensives and self healing.
BM needs time to ramp up damage and thats going to be frustrating against high geared and higher skilled players who will just CC and gib/rot you. Especially at honor/half-conquest gear I dont think you are doing enough damage as BM to pressure anyone who knows what they are doing. Whereas after the recent buffs to MM all you need to do is open, and then if they do try to chase you down, reset/turtle kite, and open again.
I think with BM, unless you reallllllly know the terrain very well, and are already a pretty skilled and knowledgeable player, the only people you are going to beat in 1v1s are undergeared noobs/mongos/swiftys/pvers.
That being said, BM and MM are different playstyles, and if you find yourself enjoying BM more, then just go for it. Play what you enjoy or this game gets old reallllllllly fast.
Edit:
to answer your question, feeding your pet has no real benefit anymore. It now functions only as an out of combat heal, i think. Most people just use Mend Pet and wait for the heal over time to top your pet when you need it. In the past you needed to worry about a thing called âpet happinessâ, which you maintained by feeding your pet, but not anymore.
So really there is no real reason to use the ability or keep it on your bars.
Have fun!
this is correct, feeding is just a bigger, out of combat, heal than mend pet.
Feeding your pet lets you know you love them!
I always feed Harold! Heâs a big fella!
Also, the above dude hit a lot of good points. MM def very good for bgs and wpvp.
But donât sleep on sv. If youâre open to trying and learning it, you can do some bonkers damage too.
To piggy back off of this pointâŚ
I found that I had a better time gearing as MM, and then switching to BM once I got to a comfortable ilvl. The thing working against BM is the lack of burst. It does have strong consistent damage, but the lack of a burst window makes it tough to finish off someone. When you are under-geared, the consistent damage is laughable.
MM however, you can still pop off 50k crits even when undergeared.
Also donât sleep on your pets and get a variety. You will want to change your pets based on your enemy. Spiders for example, slow the enemy by 50% for 6 seconds every 10 seconds. They are great when facing enemies with high mobility. My devilsaur is usually my go-to pet since it has a Mortal Strike effect which reduces the effectiveness of healing on my enemies.
I have my Spirit Pet, Hati, because they have a healing ability.
I have my bear when I need to tank something in PvE while doing elite WQs.
Youâll want to use these pets for each situation. If I already have a lot of people on my team who are capable of MS, then I usually put my Devilsaur on the bench.
Youâll also want to know the difference between Cunning pets, Ferocity pets, and Tenacity pets. I highly recommend petopia. com. Itâs an excellent resource.
Tip #1 Buy valentines items on the 15 to get the most âbangâ for your bucks guys
To give one more bit of advice to this very good list of tips.
Itâs usually a good idea to get yourself an undead raptor as an option as well. Against mage teams you can pop out the undead one so they canât poly your pet. Then against DKs/priests who can CC undead you can pull out the beast MS pet.
Itâs a small thing that is actually probably not needed till you get to higher ratings, but IMO itâs a good thing to get accustomed to.
Another thing you can do thatâs more funny than actually good is make your secondary âfakeâ pet more noticeable.
I donât play BM much on my hunter but when I do my primary pet is something small and non-descript, usually a rodent of some kind. Then my secondary pet from animal companion will be a massive bright-green glowing on-fire felhound. The amount of players that try to kill the huge felhound is hilarious.
Been using a black hyena in BGs to match Ulfred, one of his pre-70 projects is to get an undead devilsaur. Do they come in black?
playing a hunter is like in little league when you cant hit the ball pitched so they bring out the tee for you to hit off of.
yah, you play baseball ok.
Theyâre all good for that, Iâd say. Feeding your pet restores missing health.
Welcome back!
He never left.
How can you come back if youâve never gone away. WB OB. Iâve been gone too.
Itâs Homelander.
