Hunter advice on PvP build

Looking for some advice from some good PvP hunters on this build. This is my first time playing hunter in classic.

I’m sacrificing 3 points in killer instinct for entrapment. This will be primarily for world PvP. In world PvP a lot of people are on me, or there are other people attacking my target. So I need to use frost trap instead of freezing trap. That’s why I’m going for entrapment.

Edit: Remove the spaces in the link, after classic. and after wowhead.

best advice you could get if you wanna pvp is to Re roll

Lock, mage, rogue priest or warrior all of these are 100x better than hunter

Hunter is fine in both World PVP and battlegrounds. This is Classic, we aren’t talking about arenas. Hunters are great when they get the jump on people especially.

Entrapment is nice to have.

Entrapment is really good in BGs. I hate it so much when I get stuck in it. It is so broken.

Careful, he’s gonna start telling you about his secret FD+trap nullifying macro.

Throwin hands has been in another thread trying to convince everyone that hunters are the worst PvP class in Classic.

So, grain of salt.

Please ignore this guys… the forums on a whole have done so already.

That specs seems fine. But, you might wanna look up some youtube videos. I know I have used entrapment (its great in bgs). But, you will use freezing trap more often in wpvp then frost trap. Just an FYI…

This is only for 1v1s though in WPvP right? Usually In WPvP I rarely encounter 1v1s. I’m either being attacked by multiple people, or a group is helping me attack someone else. Making freezing trap useless. Also mobs knock my enemy out of freezing trap. And there’s skull of impending doom. That’s why I’m thinking entrapment. So I can have the best of both freezing trap and frost trap, for different situations. But it sucks that I have to give up killer instincts. I really want that extra 3% crit. Idk if it will matter much though.

is pretty standard

Stop trying to tell people that hunter is good in pvp when they’re bottom tier to mage/rogue/warrior/priest/lock

Get outta here with hunter is good in classic lol

Last I checked hunters beat rogue pretty consistently.

Not according to that guy. He is playing a different game then we are. lol

He has a secret anti-hunter macro.

All you pvp noobs are funny asf… You guys must be new to SOM because in classic every thread about hunter was people screaming for buffs.

These new players are going to be highly upset after reading all these threads about how amazing huntards are and then getting camped at 60

Hunters basically hard counter rogues.

Honestly the best advice I can give is always include 2/2 Trap Mastery in any pvp build you play. I’m not sure how 1/2 became the meta, but the difference is definitely noticeable. At 2/2 you will almost never have your freezing traps be resisted, while at 1/2 it will still happen often enough to be a persistent annoyance.

3/3 Barrage is an absolute must, multishot is your go-to ability
3/3 killer instinct is needed as well, critting an aimed shot or multishot is going to be the biggest determining factor on whether you kill someone or not.

Take points out of lightning reflexes, at low gear levels it’s especially not worth it.

Interesting. Didn’t think of that. Yeah I mean dropping like 45 agility might not be that big of a deal. However, when I put 3 points in multi, I only have 2 left for critical instinct. What else would you recommend dropping. Only thing I can think of is removing one point from clever traps. But it hurts sooooo much lol

you can take points out of imp wingclip or savage strikes
Savage strikes it better when you have a good 2hander, not sure if you do yet.
