Hunter adjustments needed

This is not about playstyle, this is about a base issue of the class that has been part of the class since vanilla/era (the base gane sod is based off of)

This issue is very simple, scaling.

Hunters have very poor scaling, especially for ranged hunter.

The healthiest fix for this would be adding rap scaling to commonly used DoT effects, namely serpent sting and fire traps. With this change the chimera shot serpent sting damage would need to be toned down, possibly to 15-20% as the goal is to improve dpw scaling without breaking pvp burst

Next possible scaling would be to make these damage over time abilities able to crit.

As a side note with giving rap scaling to explosive trap, the damage scaling should only effect the dot, not the initial damage of it. Again, not looking to buff burst (and make pvp even more bursty) but to byff ranged dps scaling.

Ranged hunter sims show pre raid bis gear and bis raid gear being less than 100 dps difference. Because of a huge lack of scaling. Melee hunter is in a good spot, though it still has some scaling issues, but it isnt nearly as bad as ranged hunters lack of scaling.

Theirs your problem stip simming a clasdic toon and stop trying tp parse have fun my guy. Trust me been playing hunters mele and rwnged for ever. They scale fine my dude

Been a hunter since actual vanilla, the thing that kept hunters even remotely viable in era was weaving, not ranged on its own. And even with that it started to fall to lower middle of the pack.

And we still see the lack of scaling on ranged hunter in p2 and now p3 its already close to dropping a few spots with just a few lockouts of the raid.

Is that why i see lone wolf mm hunters and 2h surv hunters destroying meters in pve and pvp. Get out of the echo chamber. All hunter specs are viable and good in sod. You hust gotta learn who to do it

Because the groups they are in are bad or very poorly made. Lone wolf MM hunter scales worse, because it effectively has no rune in the focus fire slot because the only other option is tnt, which is absolute garbage. And the icing on the top is tnt adds 0 scaling as fire traps are entirely base damage. If by “destroying the meters” you mean on aoe trash pulls ya, they are good at that, but thats again, almost entirely tied to base damage as explosive trap has 0 scaling and explosive shot has ~0.1 rap scaling (tnt makes is 0.11, so still horrible), which is very small, and is almost entirely base damage.

They clear each week so how are they bad. Mabee people just play what they like and are really good at it. People who play what they like over whts suposedly good . Tend to preform better. Just cause their not what some streamer ir some super sweaty chad writer is dosnt mean their bad.sod content is easy. If you clear it doing dw bbm great. But i see lw and 2h sv hunters clear st each week and do great damage to boot they are far from bad.

You can clear the raid with all gray parsing dps,doesnt mean its a good group.

Being able to clear it doesnt mean the group is good. The raid is not mechanically complicated, nor does it have a high dps check.

The only part that has any crit scaling is explosive traps initial damage hit, the dots on traps have 0 scaling, and that is where essetially all of their damage is at.

You do not understand traps at all, let alone the hunter class it seems.

I do the more agi Nd ap i het the more damage my traps do lean the class before comenting. If tgey are clearing te raid then i guess they arent bad. If the group clears ot guess theit not bad people dont need to be giga chad sweaty nuckle apes that spend tge lives on warcraft logs to be good. They just have fun and down bodses thatscwhat wow is about. Warcraft loggs and parsescwerent a think back inbtge fsay andcwe made it work. Super sweaty people is what ruined retail. Peopile who think thy know what tgeirctalking about cause somr streamer said it was right. On the 2h comment slower 3 hand weps have base higher damage. And crits hit harder. With s 2 hander my base raptor steikes are double tge damage of duel weilding and when i crots its tripple. Also. Immolation yrap asi got mor agi and ap the damage and crit went up. So obviously you know not what your talking about. And are pro ly a streMer and warcraft logs fan boy. That refuese to put in the work to fond alternative playstyles.

Traps have 0 scaling, the only things you could have effecting their damage is SV talent, lone wolf, and tnt.

If you feel there is a damage difference it is in your head. Its easy to test. Take off your gear and you will see it does the same damage as long as you do not add a modiefier from lone wolf, tnt, and the sv talents.

Buffing dps surv kills BM.
3 dps spec’d classes have never worked in the history of wow
hunter is the only class without a tank or heal spec
Make Surv a tank!

This isnt even about making SV better. Its ranged hunter overall.

Rap scaling on traps and serpent sting buffs bm, mm, and sv ranged hunter options as melee does not use serpent sting or fire traps as a regular part of their rotation.
