Is there a way to track how many times you’ve ran islands?
I haven’t ran Islands that many times because I don’t like the go-go-go vibe in there, but I have the parrot mount.

I’ve done around 3,500 - 4,000 total islands this expansion between my desktop and my laptop. 2/3 Mythics but with the remaining 1/3, I usually go heroic unless leveling an alt. I have to admit, it’s pretty streaky. I got three island mounts over a year ago after doing 200-300 and not getting anything besides tmog, pets. Then suddenly I lined up three in a couple of weeks? Then there was a five-month dry spell after and nearly 1k islands done before I got the Thunderscale. The RNG can be pretty ridiculous, prone to dramatic swings.
At least the tmog sells pretty well at good prices, even on a 70th percentile non-RP realm like mine lol

I was wondering about this. I have exactly 1000 Dubloons on this toon and was wondering whether they are better spent on the one vendor mount or on boxes. The choice is not really obvious if the chance of a mount from boxes is decent.
This is the type of game most of the people left playing want, so thats what they get.

In fairness I don’t care much for the islands and stopped doing them several months ago. They are fun and all but the lack of clarity as to what initiates drops and the other players being antisocial (coming from me that is bad) casts an unpleasant shadow on them.
Shame really. Would like another dragon and a moose mount.
Ya crazy low chances like most other things in this game. Im thankful Im not a masochist to put myself through the collecting obsession a growing number are into. Ive only done a handful this expansion and mostly just anti social… With the odd group that had some person with an attitude problem so what else is new. Its what turns me away from this content. Not to mention killing enemy npcs for “reasons” gets old fast. Islands were meant to be much more but turned out to fall flat in mediocrity.
That’s also the only one I’ve gotten and it’s the only one I didn’t care if I ever collected it. Still trying to get that damn parrot. Hopefully the loot crates will be kind to everyone who has spent a stupid amount of time in IEs and have had bad luck.
My fourth mount from IE’s dropped last night. There are 5 more. I run a minimum of 32 - 50 per week (cycling through alts).
The drops rates need to be increased.
I ran a handful at the beginning of the expansion and then stopped. I despise the gameplay of everyone running around in a mad panic to get it finished. It won’t come as a shock that I didn’t get a mount during those few times.
i stop doing those crap islands because of this
you can’t solo, meaning you are dependent of 2 other people, and yet the drop is abnormal, i got like one pet in dozen of islands and give up
Not really one of the most common mounts isn’t all that great looking. That said when rotting mire cache comes up I will be buying that instead of using my dubloons on the vendor mount for a chance at squawks.
What’s going to suck is the boxes cost 175 doubloons.
I bought a few on the PTR and got 1 mount(the bat) and a ton of greens.
The chances are 1/8 for a mount OP. Lots of testing has already been done
Sitting here with 7 out of 9 mounts from IE. Got all of them from the island itself and not the crates. You have to kill the specific rares and loot their cache to have a chance at getting the mount. Also, did all of my IE on mythics for atleast 6 hours a day
