Waited there for 12 hours with someone else and Humar never came up… we killed Swiftmane near him as well to make sure it wasn’t that. This is for Smolderweb sever on WoW Classic.

Are you sure you didn’t swap layers? Each layer has a separate spawn timer.
I camped for about 6 hours straight, slept for 4 hours and came back and no Humar the Pridelord. I have been at this for 3 days now off and on. I seen the same people camping coming and going. Is it the layering or has he not been placed in Classic yet? I’d really like to know as I have spent way to many hours camping!
Same issue on Ashkandi. We waited a full 24 hours and he never showed up. He definitely is bugged or something.

I was in ratchet last night and saw someone in general saying humar is up.

This is normal. Humar is an extremely rare & long spawn as a unique hunter pet, not a named quest kill.

I think this is an issue with layering to be honest. Blizzard stated that layers merge as people log off.
So, for example, lets say you log in at prime time and get placed in layer 4. You witness a rare spawn die at 6pm server time. As you wait for the rare spawn, more people log off for the night and your layer gets merged into layer 3, but it turns out the rare spawn was killed at 9pm server time on layer 3, so you don’t see the rare spawn in the time frame that it should, even though you never intentionally switched layers.
That’s my best guess at least. I was camping over night for Broken Tooth and didn’t see him spawn once in over 12 hours, when he should be on a 7-8 hour respawn time. I assume my layer was merged at some point during the night as people logged off.
“Layering” is not an authentic Vanilla WoW “feature”.
Corpse walking, however was. Notably you can’t do that in classic.
Sadly, Classic is not exactly what WoW once was.

Grats Mina! Hope it doesn’t run away. I have had nothing but problems. In 15 years I never had a pet leave. Suddenly despite feeding, fighting, leveling with a pet for 3 hours, it vanished. It was not gaining loyalty levels at all, which is a bug.
Players have reported losing pets even with full loyalty level (best friend).
Someone else reported taming Humar only to have it vanish without notice or apparent reason. This is a very serious hunter bug and I hope to hell it is fixed permanently soon.
