I don’t just mean real-life Humans, Humans in WoW are one of the most metal species on Azeroth. They have survived multiple genocidal attempts, are incredibly resilient, and despite setbacks, are ridiculously optimistic for a better future of their kind. They live by the tales of folk heroes and strive for justice, truth, valor, and honor.
They may be young, but they’re probably one of the most versatile species in the WoW universe. There’s a subreddit called r/HumansAreMetal, and I agree, except I think that WoW Humans are way more metal.
Other Species (i.e. Trolls, Draenei, and yes, even the Pandaren) are also metal in their own way.
What species do you think are among the most metal in the WoW universe?
So is every other sentient race on Azeroth. Some more than others. Have read the Troll lore? Nobody takes L harder than them but man they make you think they are still going strong.
In astrophysics all elements beyond helium are considered metal. Thus early stars are low in metallicity and stellar clouds with heavier elements such as oxygen are considered high in metallicity. Therefore all creatures made of elements other than pure hydrogen or helium are metal.
Every WoW race is “metal” and has gone through something extreme-
every race, except Vulpera. Which is partially why I dislike them.
They’re fluffy and cute and don’t seem to offer much to the WoW story aside from letting people play as Ratchet and Clank rejects, which I guess is their purpose (giving the Horde a cute race).
They just don’t seem to inherently exist within conflict like all other WoW races do.
Vulpera are just… there.
Being ‘scrappy’ isn’t offering much, anyone can be ‘scrappy’.
My bigger disappointment being, they share the goblin model, so we likely lost Gilgoblins to Vulpera, which is just sad, imo.
Figured the allied races were supposed to be offshoots as well, Vulpera aren’t that. And they are the only ones, like this.
You couldn’t be more wrong. Vulpera literally hail from one of the harshest lands in all of Azeroth. Many Vulpera were also enslaved, we even helped many escape from slavery. They have strong social bonds as well. They are not only scrappy and resourceful, they are trusting and also optimistic. It is due to their harsh history of enslavement and hardship that makes their optimism that much stronger and impactful. Do not mistake Vulpera friendly nature for naivety, we are a strong people with strong hearts.
Vulpera actually encapsulate what being part of the horde is, arguably better than any race.
