Human sword specialization says you get spell and ATTACK crit chance. It does not specify melee crit chance but equipping a sword as a human hunter only applies the crit to melee and spell.
Why would it apply to something like a ranged weapon attack? It’s called sword specialization for a reason, not weapon specialization. AFAIK, attack and ranged attack are two separate things. As for casters, the sword is the “source of their power,” so it still applies to them.
crit in wow forever was supposed to be all combined into one stat. even end game gear now just gives crit to everything. they are not supposed to be separate.
and IF its not supposed to work, they should reword it to melee crit in the tooltip.
Yeah I’m personally not 100% sure where or how they draw the line with that, so your best bet is to report it via the in-game bug report tool.
