Human Race Mega Thread and Lounge

That’s what makes us all truly unique.

A large portion of humanity appears to be oblivious to it, but I think that we all experience it throughout our time.

I also think that the Matrix did a good job of explaining the phenomenon. That movie blew my mind when it came out, but so did A Nightmare on Elm Street, so what do I know? :grinning:

'Mimickers and true synesthesia are two completely different things. I mean I won’t sit here and placate that you are wrong as they are all psychological responses, but because it is a personal experience, it is very hard to sit there and say ‘this is the way the world is for me’.

That is like me saying 'how can you prove you’re really American? how can you actually prove that you are really Australian? what a birth certificate? sure that can be forged, along with any other documentation you can provide, how can you prove that you are really what you are? the only way is by presenting facts right? My music is a great example of it. The reason being this: I was never taught how to play music, I do it by color alone. I am not ‘self taught’ because I never was taught, either by myself or otherwise. Explain this to me, how does one go from not being able to read music to simply being able to play it without prompt of any kind? if you can explain this outside of my reality of seeing the colors and hitting the notes I’d love to hear it.

Outside of that, do I have a problem with other people seeing me as a fraud? Well no, they don’t hear or see the things I do, so it is very difficult for me to portray that to them in any factual sense. That is the truth, and will always be the reason why eye-witness testimony in any setting is the lowest form of factual evidence. Same reason UFO’s are such a debated phenomenon. The only thing we have to fall back on is eye-witness testimony.’

'That is somewhat creepy I must admit xD, I watched that movie and had nightmares for weeks. But that has more to do with other things than just a scary movie.

I have problems when it comes to memory retention. I remember great details about a lot of different things, and it is entirely color based. Everything I do emulates this theory.

From my memory, to the way I play music, the way I play in game, the way that I address people(their voices have differential tones and colors to me and it shows me how they feel for example. It helps me read others, its a good little thing to have at times).

Things like this are more of a guide than anything else, it’s not a catch-all solution to anything like people claim. Trust me. Like the color yellow is a great example from me, that means someone is withholding some piece of themselves in my experience, so if I hear someone and I hear yellow I know that. But it could be anything, it could be something from 30 years ago that means a lot to them, but that is all that matters to them, and I am never going to bring it up unless they agree that those things are important to discuss.

I do pry a little but that is more that I care than trying to figure out what they’re hiding. It’s important to me that those people are comfortable talking to me, I use those tell-tale signs as a guide for me to convey that I am no threat, and that I would rather just converse and make those people happy in conversation. That is what is important at the end of the day, it’s making sure everyone is doing well. If I detected anything else of the sort I try to figure out what’s wrong and if I can help, and if I can, I do.

People act like Synesthesia is some kind of alien gift that we use to do x,y, and z. It really isn’t. It’s a perception of our reality. It’s no different to how someone else see’s the world. Just a different way of looking at it. That. is. all.’

I know exactly what you mean.

It isn’t judgment from my point of view, but rather approaching the situation from an overview level of perspective versus in the moment, if that makes sense?

'It makes absolute sense Mate, I completely agree with you.

Heres the really really weird part about me. I am extremely scientifically grounded. To be this way is an extremely conflicting way to live.

I have to be able to ascertain if what I see/hear/feel is a factually based reality or if it’s just an imaginative or explorative delusional sense. Those things are hard to gauge when you have other things going on in the background that compliment who you are.

But from any perspective, that is exactly how I see the world. Those are the things I see and feel and hear. Another good example, there are certain color platforms I simply cannot touch, because touching them makes me sick. Anything that is brown makes me feel sick. Don’t ask me why that is, I can’t do it. That is why all my keyboards are black(thankfully those are common) but even if they weren’t common, it tastes like certain things depending on the color. And no, it’s not like blue → blueberry. I wish it was that simple. Try this:

White - Oranges
Orange - Coconut
Blue - Beef
Green - Orange Juice
Black - Ham

That is just a few examples I can give you. When I touch these surfaces or objects of that color that is what I taste, and it is a strong sensation.’

'I do have to lay down here shortly because it’s been a damn long day, but I’m more than happy to chat about any aspect you might feel is relevant.

My favourite subjects are generally scientifically based, things like Astronomy, Geology etc. because it’s enjoyable and interesting stuff. Like how rock turns from one rock into another, or how a star has to be 1.4 Solar masses(1.4x the size of our Sun) to explode into a Supernova, aka. the Chandrasekhar Limit. Things like that are vastly interesting to me personally’
