So whats your guy’s opinion on what race I should play for a pally healer? Im guessing Human since they have that extra 5% spirit, but I really love playing a dwarf paladin. Is the spirit buff really that important for the end game content, or can I just keep playing a dwarf Pally and get into end game raids and stuff just as easily as a human paladin? Do the serious raiding guilds care that much to take a human over a dwarf pally for the tiny bit of extra spirit?
human males make the best, most buffest, paladins. /flex
Dwarves are awesome, I’d go dwarf. I mean really, who plays a fantasy game with all these different races to choose from only to go human?
Human is a clear winner for this class because paladin can already remove practically everything stoneform removes. For classes WITHOUT cleanse, stoneform is fantastic. Paladin is not one of those classes. Human also has skill bonuses for 4 of your weapons. Dwarf trades those for gun skill, a weapon paladin can’t even use.
Go the race you like the look of the most. You are going to be playing that toon a lot.
Blood Elf is the obvious choice.
The spirit bonus from the human is only worthwhile for shortening your time drinking water between combats. Paladins don’t need spirit because they don’t have any talents that allow spirt-based mana regeneration during combat.
Dwarf full stop. If this character were not a re-creation of my vanilla toon, she would be a dwarf.
I play Prot Paladin to meme around with, and one thing I’m trying to do is maximize my armor as much as i can. Without the Heart of Hakkar trinket that gives 2k armor, I am at 16k armor full buffs (minus world buffs and missing T2 shoulder).
Dwarf stone form would have further increased my armor substantially more. My goal is to hit 20k armor full buff. I think with a dwarf i’d be able to hit 22k armor for a bit with full Naxx gear.
My Pally is Human but I might finish leveling my Dwarf for TBC Prot Pally. I will also get the Armor trinket from Heart of Hakkar on him.
the spirit buff is meaningless. i chose human because human is my favorite race in wow. dwarf racials and human racials are really close though, with dwarves getting treasure chest detection on their minimap and stoneform as a cooldown. humans get +5 weapon skill for swords and maces, which translates to like 2% hit? either way, both races are good and neither is really better than the other.
serious pvp’er dwarf>human
you will miss the stoneform like the back of your hand
i see so many pvp videos where the opposite player gets ef’d by a a rogue because they were playing a human or nightelf…had they been playing dwarf with stoneform, they wouldve have won that encounter
For Pallys it literally doesnt matter. Stone skin is probably more useful than the tiny tiny amount of spirit gained anyway, and the FR will be marginally useful in Naxx
Stoneform can remove blind.
31/?/? Holy = Human for the spirit buff, even though Spirit is kind of a silly stat. Any down time means you Regen faster post-5 second rule. Plus, Humans have higher base Int.
?/31/? Protection tanker = Dwarf. You get a free Cleanse on a mana-intensive Prot Paladin. And most threat comes from being hit and blocked AND GBoK spam, as opposed to smacking the mob. That being said, you can be a Human without asking for forum permission.
?/?/30 Ret (don’t go to that 31 point talent unless you PvP) = Human for the weapon skills. It can literally wipe off up to 3% from the mob hit table.
In the end, play what you want and don’t listen to highly biased opinions like mine.
Stoneform is the better racial. Plus braids.
Dwarf, you should never lost to a rogue with stoneform.
Rule of thumb for alliance. If theres a human option, you roll human (the only class you’d roll otherwise is warlock or mage for the gnome int buff). Also think about future expansions. Humans become best in slot for both PvE and PvP come WoTLK.
Terrible advise. Priorities?
Uh…what? Thats literally the best advice for classic.
Again, priorities?
