At launch, no. On later characters, AFAIK quite a few. You won’t get enough to hit Exalted, but you will be in a much better position. That said, you can also re-complete all those low level quests as a higher level character and get the same Reputation gains.
I feel a comic strip here. Orc casually walks through durotar, enjoys the spring breeze, waves at the trolls, then gets on a zep. “Time to get my undercity rep.” Meanwhile the human is running for his life from an angry croc in the wetlands.
I can’t remember if it was Wrath or Cataclysm when they added the Zepplin, but they moved the boat in Wrath when they created the Harbor in Stormwind.
That’s right. I remember wanting to roll a Tauren, as that would make it easier to get the Thunder Bluff RFC quests: since they already had to go to the Crossroads, and the other races had to go to TB from Durotar.
It might sound like an equal distance, but it didn’t feel like it. Ah, Classic.
I can tell you from experience that you won’t be riding a saber for a long time. In the Beta, I only reached 3,715/21,000 revered with Darnassus by level 40, despite completing nearly every single Darnassus quest as well as most Alliance quests that gave spillover Darnassus rep. After Desolace and Feralas quests, you’d have to supplement with Morrowgrain/Un’Goro Soil turn-ins at level 47 and/or Runecloth turn-ins at level 50 to finally achieve exalted.
You can read through my entire quest completionist route here:
Just an Elwynn Girl. Living in a Night elf World!
She took the Deeprun Tram going anywhere!
Just a Darkshore Man, grew up and raised in Loch Modan!
Took a horse down to Goldshire and was never seen again!
That human bonus reputation is going to look mighty frackin’ attractive in your pursuit of a nightsaber mount. I don’t blame you. Horses are lame.
I’m serious, the 10% additional rep will add up like you wouldn’t believe. Will it actually get you a tiger by 40? Or soon after 40? If it’s possible, it will require you to map out your quests in advance to make sure you do them at level appropriate times. But if you can pull it off it’ll be a genuine achievement and I’m sure people will whisper you ingame asking how you did it.
If your heart is set on a tiger and not a horse (I don’t blame you), I would probably avoid even getting a mount until you reach exalted with Darnassus, but only if you have a means of getting exalted before 60. Mounts are much more expensive, and even the cheaper training is mount specific.
Warlocks and Paladins get a leg up on wanting another faction’s mount as they get to at least get a 60% speed mount for free without having to drop money on an unwanted racial mount.
Edit: I plan on making an Orc Warlock but I’m going to get exalted with Darkspear Trolls to get a Swift Orange Raptor at level 60. I’m going to use the money saved from buying a lvl 40 mount (I will forgo buying a wolf or wolf riding training) and it will be used on the Runecloth that will inevitably pile up to get exalted with the quest-starved Darkspear reputation.
I plan on doing the same thing with my Dwarf Hunter but with Gnomeregan Exiles for a Swift Green Mechanostrider. I’ll be using Aspect of the Cheetah to get around a bit faster until I get exalted, since I love Dwarves but hate Ram mounts.
