Human Hit Rating with OEB

For PvP - how much additional hit rating does a human need to get capped while using Obsidian Edged Blade?

I am not sure if weapon skill actually contributes to hit rating in a pvp scenario, some people say it does and others sat it doesn’t (same with defense skill).

Provided it DID actually provide the same amount of hit as a PvE encounter. You would need just a little less than 2% hit. Since the weapon skill formula is a little janky (especially with +13 swords). Since all items outside of weapon skill bonuses give hit in integers, you would want 2% on gear to be melee hit capped for PvP

5% for melee.
+weapon doesn’t affect PVP, when attacking it will always be at your max level weapon skill(60x5) vs the enemy max level defense(60x5).
Even +Def doesn’t work work in PVP beside the +dodge/parry stats.

defense definitely works in pvp. +skill however does not. you’re stuck with whatever your base is for the weapon type (300) and when you have less than the cap you’re effectively the cap for the duration of the pvp instance. it’s why people run through the AV caves to level weapon skill.

Does it reduce your chance to be hit by an attack or just increases your chance to block/dodge/parry? I am using some tier 1/2 gear in my pvp set and im yet to have an attack ‘miss’ me.

it does both. i’m hit capped using an OEB and on occasion miss alliance tanks. they also dodge like mad so overpower is always up. also wearing two piece might so my defense is +10 and i’ve been missed on specials fairly often but I have no idea whether the target was actually hit capped.

it’s one of the dumber aspect of pvp that defense works but yea it did in vanilla and still does
