Huge double standard and white knitting on the Forums

Get so sick of this. I’ll come on here and read threads and see where a known poster can just ook all over someone’s ideas, real life character (as if they know them), level of intelligence, etc. Because they do it with big words, have a huge post count, and always play the victim it’s okay.

Some unknown can use light sarcasm or make a joke that if said in real life, it would mean absolutely nothing but because it’s on here where everybody has wet paper feelings, it’s the most terrible thing ever.

The worst thing is that everybody can just gang up on somebody but if they try to defend themselves as much as possible within the realms of discussion with people you’ve never met or even saw, well once again…they’re insulting people and being a terrible person.

The mods always give into this too. I’ve seen people get suspended for the lightest things while other can just sit there and bash people and ideas in paragraphs and it’s perfectly fine.

It’s not right man. Liking feet don’t make me weird!

Oh and just because someone’s personality isn’t like yours…well that doesn’t mean they’re a bad person without a moral code and ethics.

Too many on here expect everyone to be some stereotypical definition of a loser with no emotions outside of fear and pain.

I love people more than animals. That doesn’t make me a bad person.

I say bad words at times. I also give money to people in need and don’t question where they spend it. I have much more of a heart than some on here who get stupid “offended” by things that most I know in real life would never even think twice about.

I just wish I could express my opinion without being some terrible person.

Also being fat is a choice.

I agree, it is a choice. It doesn’t instantly happen overnight

I see that sort of thing sometimes but I don’t think it’s intentional. I think they should allow us to block other people on the forums, would probably resolve my concerns.

You can buy a machine of your own!

I would not take it too seriously. Have you seen what the Wow conventions? Those socially awkward dorks are the ones you are fighting with here. No way would they even dare be as tough, arrogant and condescending in real life.

It’s a running joke. You should just have fun with it here. Lord knows I do.

If people are evil… and you love them… that would be worse than just being a person (evil). Like some sort of next level evil loving evil instead of self-hating evil like the rest of us~~

People complain about everything these days, even knitting.

True. Just because your personality is different does not mean you are without morals and ethics.

However.

You ARE a Blood Elf. Therefore, you clearly have no moral code or system of ethics.

Also, until Blizzard changed it, your leader sounded like Wlfred Brimley with throat cancer. Our racial leader, for all his Mecabomination predilictions, is now Robocop.

I think it’s time to bring back tatting. We definitely need more lace doohickeys around like an old lady’s house.

Maybe some hand embroidery, get those fancy towels out for when guests arrive

Why the knitting gotta be white bro?

One learns rather quickly that you need to develop a thick skin to participate in public forums. There is an internet meme that helps explain why, that essentially states:

Normal person + anonymity + audience = total jerk

To clarify, take most any average person, put them on the internet so that no one knows who they really are, and give them an audience. They will inevitably become mean, insulting and arrogant. The only way to deal with them is to remind them that they are behaving like a bratty child…but do so in a way that won’t get you punished (silenced, banned, etc.). Oh, and…grow a thick skin.
