Hug A Centaur Today!

The Centaur are WoW’s most neglected Race.

They’ve never been part of any non-Vanilla content.

They’ve never been part of any max level content.

They’ve never received model updates.

Their pets look much better than they do nowadays.

And to be fair, Blizzard tried. Once. They made a Comic Book about a Centaur joining the Horde. Dorthar, the Horde Centaur, was a real cinnamon roll!

(I don’t think the heart of a wolf would be powerful enough to pump blood in a horse’s body, lady. This is not the praise you think it is lol)

But then they’ve never revisited this story, Dorthar and his Horde friends never showed up in-game and their canon status is probably about the same as Medan’s.

So show the Centaur some love! Because Blizzard won’t.

Hug A Centaur Today!

Wouldn’t recommend it.

Didn’t they straight up confirm Medan was not cannon somewhere? (swear I read that, but I’ll have to go look it up now)

Not saying though that it wouldn’t be neat to have updated centaurs, even just for the NPC’s if not something like an allied race

They did, that was my point.

Nah. They should be relegated to Desolace and forgotten.

Last time I tried to hug a centaur he tried to kill me.

You’re hugging the wrong Centaurs.

What you gotta do is go to Desolace and do the zone’s leveling questline. That will instantly give you exalted reputation with the Gelkis Clan and the Magram Clan.

Then you can hug them all you like because they love you.

Does Mylune count? I remember doing a daily for her with the text saying how she crushed me against her chest.

Aren’t they supposed to be one of the grossest races in the game?

Cuz, I’m sure I could get a new disease from touching one

No. She is a Dryad, not a Centaur. They are related, but not the same.

And Dryads get enough love from Blizzard. They don’t need it anywhere as much as the Centaurs do.

That’s a lot of traveling, just to hug something that smells like a stinky dude and a stinky horse.

Just have to make sure to approach cautiously and hug in the correct fashion, like shown here

Any other way is likely to cause instant and painful retaliation, unless if coming prepared as Mortis said.

That horse really needed a hug, judging by that long face lol

Weren’t the centaur trying to genocide the Tauren a few years ago? I’ll pass.

I don’t think they were trying to genocide the Tauren. They were just hunting them for hides.

It’s not their fault they were too good at hunting.

Centaurs don’t have enough global vision to think in terms of “genocide”. They are just primitive people doing primitive things for primitive reasons.

They don’t need hate, they need guidance.

My bad…in my defense…I thought said defense was necessary…

Oh, that makes sense. Well I’ll just go ahead and guide a bullet into their empty heads, then. I will not become a fur hat!

You are a Vulpera. You don’t have enough hide to be worth hunting lol

They are legitimately one of the cooler races IMO. I loved the quest line in Desolate where you could ally yourself with either the Gelkis or Magram clan.

One of my favorite D&D characters any of my players ever used was a centaur necromancer. Their claims plains where they roamed had been increasingly encroached upon from various factions, so Phobos took up spell craft and the dark arts to fight for his people! Making a deal with the nation to the south, he fought for them to secure his people’s homeland.

He became increasingly evil as he let the power of his magic corrupt him, ultimately becoming obsessed with avoiding death and becoming a lich after he died and was resurrected by the party cleric.

Phobos the Centaur and his army of zombies / skeletons was great. I know that’s not really WoW related, but the thread reminded me how cool centaurs as a race are.

I think a Centaur race would be really cool but difficult to fit into game lore.
