Hue shift for armor and weapons

so basically what the title says, give us a way to change our armor/weapons color simply by shifting the hue of the whole texture

I don’t think you understand how old this game is.

But yes. I’d also like to be able to dye my gear.

maybe in another 16 years…

If they could do it in a way that doesn’t interfere with similar transmogs then I would enjoy that.

They say their solution is to make lots of recolors for the same item. The problem is half the time they don’t make all or any of these available. Kind of like the other heritage armor colors (or the weapons for that matter, meaning there’s unavailable models too).

What is the point in transmog and different tier colouring though? That’s my main issue with armour colour changing.

Whilst I would like to see the option added to the game I also have to accept what that takes away from game in terms of specific colourations on sets which would be forcibly redundant.

an item that is red and pink and is the exact same as another item that is lets say orange and purple wouldn’t hue shift the same way and you couldn’t change the orange and purple item to red and pink with a hue shift, that’s just not how hue shifting works, so both items would still be unique anyways.

TBF you could color your armor in mmos older then this.

However I don’t see wow ever doing it. With transmog being 70% recolors it would reduce the market for many of those items. And there very well could be some kind of engine/performance limit. The more customization’s you do to a character the more unique data you have to load.
