[H][PvE/RP]<Dark Echo> Reverberation

The soles of leather boots padded quietly down the stone corridor of once familiar halls. Sharpened nails trailed along the stone walls, occasionally sending a few sparks playing into the air lazily. She was in no hurry, neither was she dragging her feet. As she drew closer to the room the wardens above had indicated, she could hear babbling, gibberish muttered in many languages. To anyone else this gibberish would seem like madness, but she had done the gibbering herself once upon a time.

As she reached the last turn before the room, she paused to take a deep breath and pushed her white hair back over her shoulders. She began pulling off her taloned gloves as she rounded the corner. She wasn’t sure what she had been expecting, but half a dozen spellbreakers and two captain level rangers was not it.

Rocking back and forth, he listed all the places the whispers had spoken to him. All the names they had given. All the places they had sent him. He had to order his thoughts. Had to make sense of it all.

N’zoth had corrupted his mind, he was sinking into madness. That was the obvious answer. How to regain control, though? Order his thoughts. Figure out when the voices had changed, gotten louder. Had to remember when the voices had first started talking to her. Him. He was a him, wasn’t he? He raised his robes and checked. Yes. Definitely a him. It was the madness, remembering another life?

He heard armor rattle and clink. Heard weapons drawn outside the door. Then heard them resheathed, and more movement. The door began open. Great, another shadow priest come to probe his mind for signs of madness. They hadn’t found any yet, but he could feel the madness.

He looked up to see his would be tormentor… it was her. Him? The memories he had that weren’t his, they were hers. He had searched for her, but hadn’t seen her since the legion fell. Where had she been? Why had she abandoned him?
--------‐----------------

A frown creased her brow as it crossed her lips. He was a gibbering mess. He didn’t even realize he was babbling in an ancient elven tongue. The spellbreakers looked at one another and backed out of the room slowly closing the door behind them.

He was looking up at her with pain and confusion written across his entire existence. One eye golden, one eye violet. So he was fighting it then… of course he was. They all did. But he had been Avatar for years now.

She knelt beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder. His lip quivered into a frown of desperation and was near tears. “Help me” he whispered desperately.

“You don’t need help, Tyrathon. You need to quit fighting the Echo.” She said gently. “You’ve been the Avatar since the Legion invaded Azeroth with all their might. The Echo was quieter then, barely a whisper. Now it shouts for blood as it did when Arthas carved his bloody path through to the Sunwell. I did not prepare you for this, and I am deeply sorry… but I am here now. Use my memories, use my strength. You are not alone.”

“I can’t stop fighting! Its N’zoth, he has his tendrils tight around my mind!” He pleaded desperately. “None of this is real! You’re not real!”

She laughed.

“Wait. Your eyes. Werent they green and fiery before?” He observed aloud.

“They were, until the Echo called me back.” She said as she tilted her head sideways.

He thought back. He remembered her time with the Echo as if he was there. And he knew she was right.

He pulled back his mental defenses and let the voices in. Everything went black and he found himself standing in Quel’thalas, before Arthas had come. She stood with him, demon wings and fiery violet eyes. She smiled, half of one fang slipping loose of her lips.

There were thousands of ethereal figures around them. All speaking. And he could hear them. He knew some of them from his youth. And they all spoke the same words.

“Destroy the Banshee”

He looked around, and he understood. He looked back at Beylara. And the world faded back into place around him. He was back in his cell, her hand on his shoulder.

“What now?” He asked, his golden eye now violet, the echo resounding in his voice, like hers, deeper than before.

“We find the others. And we hunt us a Banshee.”

They both grinned and stood. The door to the cell swung open, and Lady Liadrin walked in. The guards down the hall were gone.

“Get to work you two. Time is a factor.” She barked as she spun on her heel and left as abruptly as she had come.

Selama Ashal’anore!

Dark Echo is back! The guild was originally founded on day one of BC here on MG. The players have come and gone through various guilds over the years, but now we’re back where we started!

DE is a PvE/RP guild. And we are looking to bolster our ranks going into Shadowlands.

We plan to tackle PvE content such as Mythic + and work our way into raids. Other group activities will be sponsored and encouraged. PvP nights, RP nights, achievement runs (personal and guild), as well as just general shenanigans.

Between now and SL pre-patch, we plan to enjoy the game, and we want you to enjoy it with us. Whether that comes in the form of leveling a new main for the new expansion, getting some gear to round out your toon(s), or finishing off some achievements, we’d be glad to have you, and help each other out as best we can.

Guild discord is currently a work in progress, but the basics are there. Just need to slap another coat or two of paint on it…

The active members at present are all 30+ and we don’t have the time or interest to deal with any drama. Non toxic environment or your money back. Anyone who joins and attempts to stir the pot will be invited to find themselves a new home.

This is a game, and not a second job… that being said, we still plan to push content. We may not make server first anything, but will make guild firsts.

Multiple positions are available, and promotion to officer ranks are very likely to happen once Shadowlands launches (for those interested who have experience).

We’re looking to build a community here, not just a content pushing machine. Casual members and alts are welcome (within reason).
