How much longer are we going to have this archeic design? The class has lost most of it’s sustain so why are we literally still being punished?
Do none of the devs think of these things or do we only get 5mins a year of class design allocation from the mage dev?

Arcaic? Guess we could go back to having no movement buff at all. I have no issues with Burning Rush but then again I been playing since vanilla
It’s one of the strongest movement in the game.
It only costs your healer’s mana.

We could also go back to doing nothing but casting shadow bolt, but that would also be complete trash.
The fact of the matter is that we need some help in the mobility department. Soul Shape, Buffs to Fiendish Stride (reduced costs or even faster movement), etc.

That’s only true if you’re in a group. Running solo, especially in Delves, Burning Rush really hurts!

Warlock abilities in general were designed around the ability to heal yourself up. This started way back in the day with life tap, but we still have burning rush and health funnel as major health drains.
Blizzard kept the downside of using these abilities without maintaining the upside that was warlock self-sustain. It feels broken (in a bad way) to keep the class like this. Healthstone feels like a half-measure given that every other class can benefit from them, too, and the cooldown is punishing for fights where you need more than a single top-up due to your class’s own abilities.
And to make things stranger, we still maintain drain life and siphon life as spells/talents, but they do absolutely nothing. If drain life is going to be cut to 1% of its former glory, maybe we can have some of the penalties (health costs) for our spells reduced too? Or maybe they could just make our sustain work again, which I’d prefer for nostalgia and class fantasy reasons.

it draws % of your hp. low hp means more time on that rush. and also summon your pet. it shares the damage with you.
I’ve noticed that if you pop Unending Resolve while using burning rush it heals you for almost the same as BR damages you, so you can get 8 seconds of “free” burning rush when they’re both up.
You have to have the hero talent that makes UR heal you, though, and it puts UR on CD when you might need it… but pain-free running!

Id be fine with a movement speed nerf if it came with a hps nerf too
Somebody in another thread had an idea I really liked. The improved burning rush talent should delay taking damage for 3 seconds instead of reducing it. That would give us short bursts of speed without costing hundreds of thousands of HP. You could even impose a 5 sec CD on the ability to prevent people from spamming it on and off

Or they could add that talent they removed during beta from the hero trees, spirited away.
It was a 1 min cd 12s duration 100% sprint on burning rush (with no hp cost). But then they swapped it to soulstone hp.

Soul Burn + Demonic Healthstone is basically a LoH every minute during combat.

Actually this is great for the last boss of Tirna Scythe were having a movement increase is very helpful but also there’s a lot of damage. I’ll keep that in mind.
