Hpal changes coming this tuesday

So I did some testing on my paladin on PTR and did some duels to test numbers.

Still doing some testing but, one thing that caught my attention almost instantly was, melee wings are garbage now?

It’s either a bug or they’re just hot garbage. Crusader strike is hitting lower than on live and judgement still hits for roughly 20k crit but on 230-250k health pools, that only equals 60k-70k healing which is terrible.

As much as I despise meleewings and wish they didn’t exist, hpal has almost no other source of output healing and if melee wings truly are this awful, hpals wont exist at all.

are you making sure that you yell “BIG DAM” when you have melee wings up? really important

Yea i guess its hpals time. There wont be any reponse or changes from blizz. Theyll just be bad for a season or two because thats how this works

Been enjoying my mistweaver much more in bfa than my holy pally, legion hpally was meh alright but bfa i feel the only reason hpally is even somewhat good is b/c of rogue/mage and the fast paced meta with the 2 damage stoppers we have.

Class needs a massive overhaul, hpally is far far from its glory days and an absolute boring shadow of what it once was.

I want casted healing (Divine Light) to actually heal again; like 3 expansions ago.

Hpals reward for having 1 school and no hots or instants was huge bomb heals when casting, now they are entirely cooldown based.

Also 20% of our healing is still locked behind proximity, make lights grace baseline and design a talent that makes single beacon activate full mastery or something.

You cried before the season started and cry now. Hpal will be fine

oh they had that in legion but then removed it in bfa

also pizza man hpally was the worst healer before the season started disc, rsham, MW, and rdruid were leaps and bounds above holy pally before the nerfs.

how quickly people forget.

As bad as it sounds, I hate RMPala and I don’t play with one, and, I for one, welcome the double sac changes. I think it will be interesting, although I wish it happened in a new season rather than a month left in the current one.

I dont think it will be interesting, they changed the wrong thing, it will prolly just break the class. Do hope im wrong but im prolly not (if changes stand as they currently are). They took away a massive defensive cd and really gave nothing to compensate anywhere, only a nerf to pure of heart.

So, sure maybe interesting from everyone else’s pov but not really interesting from a holy pallys pov. We have nothing new nor buffs in any other areas. The forums love to scream lulz sac u fine, but that dosent really address core problems the class has had ever since and during legion.

In fact non of the class changes really fix any core problems.

It will just be an rsham/MW/holy priest meta now is all.

Imagine if its cuz blizz thinks crusader strike dmg is that op. Halarious.

At least u still have double sac

Every T1 healer is getting nerfed in 8.1.

Disc, Resto shaman, Hpaladin…

3000+ rating (rank one)

  1. Disc priest 24
  2. Rshaman 16
  3. Holy Paladin 15
  4. Mistweaver 7
  5. Resto Druid 2

source : arenamate

And I would say Hpaladins aren’t even getting the worst end of it all.

Shamans are going to be a completely different healer.

riptide / rippling waters / Azerite trait for riptide usually equal about 50% of the healing… now that’s going to be cut by around a 1/3rd.

I think blizzard wants to even out the healers through nerfs, and then even out the DPS through buffs.

Hence why we see all t1 healers being nerfed, and for the most part, trashcan tier DPS (WW,DK,Warlocks,) being buffed.

dont forget, with all the additional rings damage is going to skyrocket.

Good because healers should be trying to kite away and heal instead of do damage. Now if we can just nerf Disc damage into the ground thanks.
