HP Omen transcend 14

Hello everyone,

I am planning to be on the road for the next 6 months and I am currently looking into purchasing a laptop. I came across one that is being offered at a great discount and it seems to have impressive specifications.

I am particularly interested in knowing if anyone has any experience playing World of Warcraft on this specific laptop. I would like to know how well it handles the game at maximum settings and how it performs with the current content.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback or insights from anyone who has used this laptop for gaming. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Get a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop its basically a cheaper MSI or ROG Laptop. I would not touch a HP product over Lenovo Legion

You may spend a little more on the Lenovo but it’s well worth it as an added bonus they offer a 5-year warranty and in that warranty if anything goes wrong with your laptop they come to your house and fix it. You don’t send it in to anywhere

You can also pay a little more and get accidental damage coverage where once again they come to your house and fix it. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro I filed an accidental claim damage ticket twice and both times have come to my house and fixed it

yeah, skip HP/Dell/Alienware.

Their consumer grade stuff is horrible. Even their business grade stuff is just so-so

I fully agree. I have taken HP, Asus, MSI and Lenovo laptops apart. Some of the soldering and other things on the HP motherboard just made it clear they cut Corners just about everywhere they could. The MSI was pretty solid while the Asus was Top Notch. Lenovo Legion was pretty solid too.

I personally would not recommend an HP product to anyone looking at a gaming laptop. I’m sorry but the quality just isn’t there and you are over paying for what you’re getting

Which one of the Legion 5s would you get if WoW is the most demanding game you play and if you are going to use it with an external monitor?

ATM TBH? AMD is coming out with a next gen X3D laptop CPU and 5000 series drop EARLY next year. Laptop parts will probably be out first. May be best to wait till end of Jan?

Give you time to save for something nicer too.

If you HAD to buy now? WHich I wouldn’t but if you HAVE to? Id get one that would last me so I dont need a new laptop for 7yrs. Id get one with a RTX 4070.

Although I am grateful for the responses, they did not directly address my initial inquiry. I was specifically interested in the performance and experiences of individuals who have used that particular laptop, as it was one of the options available to me.

Nevertheless, I have decided to retain my desktop computer and carry it with me during my travels. Despite its size and weight, I believe it will be fine to transport it only once to my hotel.

If you change your mind it should run at max settings just fine. The specs are pretty good.

I’m looking just for WoW with an external monitor, word processing and internet browsing.

Unfortunately I’ll need it starting Jan 2 on a three month remote.

But WoW plays well on my desktop and ok on my eight year old laptop. I just thought an upgrade might be nice now so I can run Windows 11.

Then just get any Lenovo Legion laptop with a 4070. I say this because the 4070 will age a lot better than the 4060 or 4050 laptop

Pay a few bucks more and get something that’s going to last you for a long time

Thanks.

Thank you.

I’ll be back to gaming on my desktop by next fall. I just need the laptop to last through May.
