These races should have been made playable back in MoP.
They can already wear armor, they’re already fully animated, hell you can even play as a Hozen during that one MoP dungeon and it just feels so right.
Why haven’t these already fully established races been made playable? Seems like an easy way to save resources on another allied race.

I’m honestly all for every race being playable… but even with that the Jinyu would probably be my last choice since they are horrifically boring… all they do is talk about water and when they say water they have a gross asmr spitty noise to it. If the goldfish people are so obsessed with water why don’t they just go back to living in it?
Vulpera had not even 20 minutes of development, and you want to talk about boring? Hell, people willingly play diaper-wearing landfill Gnomes. I think a couple more would want to play a fish person.

Hozen are like, what 6 years old? They die at age 12.
They were never designed to be playable though. They don’t even have female models for one thing and none of the many player animations that are needed. Even if there is a passable lore reason the functionality just isn’t there and it’d be a huge amount of work to do.
Most of the races in Azeroth are never going to be playable, regardless of our requests.
I just don’t see why they spent so much time trying to integrate them into their respective factions, before completely forgetting about them in WoD.
Jinyus make more sense and add more than junkgnomes, but devs don’t know how to make a playable breed hozen. So we don’t have jinyus because it would be controversial to give a race to ally from Pandaria and nothing to the horde.
The truth is that if a race does not have the sympathy the devs with vulpes have had since its creation, we will hardly see them as something delivered for the use of the players.
Blizzard prefers to waste time and resources on junkgnomes and super obese humans because it thinks this is more fantastic and magical or immersive in a fantasy world than jinyus, hozens, arakkoas, saberons, sethraks or sauroks.
I would make tons of hozen chars. One of them would become my forum avatar and would speak in their Oookin dook language for all your enjoyment.
But seriously, i love the small races. If i could, id have only vulpera, goblin, gilgoblin and hozen chars, or whatever short stature extreme personality race blizzard comes up with.
