hello gamers.
hows your posture?
hows your neck?
hows your back?
wrists okay? doing stretches?
any advice you would share to other gamers in maybe a… stiff place?
Part of the ship, part of the crew.
What neck, what back? I’m fused and locked-in.
It’s just my face on my chair. (Pls don’t sit.)
If you have those problems, get up every hour and walk around.
What about my ?
Or my crack?
Awful.
Fine.
Actually kind of hurting these past few days.
They’re okay. No I’m not stretching.
I have no advice.
And I’m wearing no socks. Bonus info for you.
Yes, what about your cat?
leans in for the cat info
Beat me to it.
Been sitting on a 1:1 for the last hour so back is getting cranky. Relief here in 5 mins or so though.
your cat is probably and hopefully fine.
please dont use crack.
I workout regularly and take regular breaks when gaming so I’m fine for the most part.
My wrists though briefly went through Hell after playing Outlaw one weekend.
Neck’s better than it was like a week or two ago, thankfully. No longer hurting or feeling like it’s constantly uncomfortably warm.
We don’t talk about my back. Or my right knee.
try to get some PT ( physical therapy ) might help allot.
that and maybe a tems unit. it does shocky stuff. helps allot.
to all those 40yo out there ,say hi to mild arthritis
Stretch ever so often and don’t sit for long periods of time. My wrists start to get irritated, so I do wrist curls or rotate them around.
My neck is pretty weak, but I have a good back. I haven’t upgraded it all the way yet, though.
Don’t forget to hydrate.
Great actually!
I’ll bestow my anecdotally obtained advice! Might not work for everyone
- sit up! They even sell things that detect and yell at you when you have bad posture. Might be an addon for it too? Haha! Also don’t let your neck go forward (also when sleeping!)
- drink plenty of water! And make sure to use the washroom. Don’t hold it in! UTIs burn!
- try to make wrists as straight as possible
- you want to refrain your arms twisting inwards to reach the keyboard. Either use a split keyboard or a gaming mouse/ standard keyboard/game pad combo
- try to make your knees 90 degrees
- get an eye care monitor
- look away from the screen towards a distance at least every hour or so for a minute and get up for a few minutes
- centre of the monitor should be eye level when you are sitting properly (vesa mount perhaps?)
- try to exercise regularly
- stretch!
- edit: massages!
If you have a lot of money to burn:
- try Azeron products
- standing desk to switch between sitting and standing for long sessions. When standing make sure to have dynamic movement
- maybe buy a better chair for your body
- Edit: new mattress perhaps?
My neck has herniation from whiplash…among various other injuries.
My posture has always sucked, way before gaming.
Neck is fine, back was messed up way before gaming after I picked up a box of hardback books at work a couple and a half decades ago.
Wrists and hands have Rheumatoid Arthritis in them, so they’re never okay.
Nope. I just use a treadmill and elliptical on days that my body allows it.
I have’t dealt with issues due to sitting at a comp too long— because I don’t sit here that long. I’m always afking for stuffs.
Hello fellow gamer!
Terrible, as always.
I can crack it multiple times a day without trying now. Probably not a good thing…
I have scoliosis and a fused lumbar, suffice it to say, it’s going as well as it can… Custom Orthotics really changed my life, back pain isn’t as much of an issue as it used to be.
Yes, actually.
No, but I really should.
Yoga is awesome, I suggest that.
