I’m looking to reroll on a RP server but I also love PvP. I’m wondering if you good ED folks could tell me more about the RP side of things on your server? Can I expect walkups? Or is RP more bubblish? Is all that entirely on Warmode Off or are there a bunch of Rp’ers “in the wilds” with WM on?
Tell me more

I just started Rping more, and it seems the best way for you to get involved is get to one of the events they host.

Warmode on, why do people still ask these questions on a once rp-PVP server

Can’t speak to the Alliance experience but on Horde it’s pretty much standard operating procedure to keep it on.
ED was a RPPVP server so a lot of players have rarely if ever turned it off.

Warmode on is usually how we do it. Rare occurrences with it off but it happens. RP here is more tight knit and walk ups are rare unless you have history with that said person.

Walk ups are hard because of sharding. So events get set up and then whoever can come, comes out. Here is some info that may help you decide:
One way to find your way around Emerald Dream guilds is to check out this spreadsheet by Aeriara!
Link – bit. ly / edguilds (take out the spaces)
And then we have the Horde PSA forum post, which includes some cross-faction gatherings, too. Both the Horde and Alliance in-game community information is included:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/rp-horde-upcoming-events-psa/87847
Both Horde and Alliance have bar nights, and on the first Saturday of the month, the Alliance hosts a convention for people seeking to learn more about the various guilds.
For information on the Horde RP discord, you can btag me for an invite: MrthePanda#1597 (might even have some info on alliance)
And, shameless plug for a small view of the ED shenanigans:

Both Horde and Alliance are working together to create a lot of different RPPVP events and the guilds are fantastic on both sides no matter what you are looking for.
Hope this helps!

Warmode on is how my friends and I do it. i hear that there is some sort of community with it off. But that could just be a legend, I do not dare explore a world without danger.

Most RPers on ED keep WM on at all times and many spend the majority of their time in the new content zones, so sharding is an issue and it makes “walk-up” RP difficult. Having said that, there’s frequent social events that are oganized, so you just keep an eye on the #events channel in the Alliance & Horde RP Discords - and hopefully you’ll find a guild that suits your taste. Joining a guild is honestly the best way to get involved in the going-ons of the RP community.
