Curious as to options as a rookie role player. Right now I’m mainly just focused on getting my first character leveled, but I’ll eventually want to join a guild.
I’d likely be open to mainly cross faction/neutral guilds as my character idea was more or less a mercenary/explorer concept (still fleshing that out as I’m new to this)
Playing as a gnome warrior, so I’m also open to gnome guilds or strictly warrior guilds.

I don’t know about class specific guilds, I think those died out in Legion with the Demon hunter guilds. But there are many many many different guilds on the server, from pirate to traders, military guilds, or guilds to represent whole governments. The Forums and various public discords are great places to find a suitable guild.
These are the Discords I’d recommend
Grand Alliance
MG Roleplayers (It won’t let me post links maybe someone who can will post them later on
To add to what’s been already said, the Discords above can give you a much better impression of how active a guild is depending on how recent their adverts have been refreshed. It also helps being able to reach out to an officer or GM directly to ask questions, or just directly join their public Discord (if one is offered).
The guild scene is always busy on MG. One thing to note is that the guild finder -is- broken. Even when ads expire, they stay on the finder, so many dead guilds are listed. Discords like the ones shared and plenty more can help you find ones more currently advertising, along with this forum.
Also, going to RP events hosted by a guild or community. Lets you get your RP feet wet, and really see who is active. Since not everyone hangs around in Stormwind all the time. Even more so for like cross-faction guilds like myself, we have horde people, so we are rarely in the cities as a large group.
