How's the Forsaken RP shaping in WRA as we head into Shadowlands? [Posible Spoilers]

My money’s on Calia. I remain optimistic about it, IF she earns it. Calia’s gonna need to have to be involved with the Forsaken story-wise for a bit before anyone accepts her as Queen

I’d rather delete my main than have to have Calia as the Forsaken leader.

Honestly I’m just keen to have a leader at this point. Life would’ve been so much easier if Nathanos has stayed loyal to his people above his Queen. Would’ve made a good story too, some decent conflict for Nathanos.

Cheers in the back…Forsaken Council…Forsaken Council!!!

On a more serious note than before, I know that my dark ranger would not have supported Calia, but maybe not quite for the reasons listed by others.

Being a brigand set to be executed the day Arthas returned really turns you off from Menethils in general.

Plus, the fact that Calia had not been with the Forsaken for any length of time (hell, she’s only been undead one expansion) would really skeeve my guy.

Shoo, you wouldn’t know she existed if you didn’t play the Priest Hall campaign or read the book. Her popping up outta left field is just lame.

Exactly my point. So any priests that participated in Legion knew, but of course that would only be rumors for anyone else. And then shows up in the novel (novels being out of game is another point which I’m sure fellow forum goers will beleaguer to death per the standard) as a sort of redeeming figure that ultimately got her people killed again.

Not off to a great start, is she.

It’s pretty much my largest problem with her. Blizzard stated that they plan 2 expansions out. Why didn’t they introduce this woman back in Cata as a lost Forsaken? Hell, why didn’t they have her pair up with Lillian then?? Why did it take them this long to bring Faol into the fray? Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng.

Her being a normie human was lame, but it could have been tolerable. How they handled her has been absolutely awful.

They do plan 2 expansions out. But remember, most of Blizz’s planning was more “oh hey we want to do X, make it happen” and that’s how the “lore” department works. I’m sure had they planned it a little better, that sort of “oof” might be missing.

Normie human actually was okay to me. Her whole little “I had a fling with a guard and got pregnant so they sent me away and I lived with the guard and my kid but then they died and I was like ‘okay now I’m gunna act’” was annoying but believable.

Now she’s honestly one of my biggest pains and unfortunately a reason why I gravitated more towards pandaren than undead.

I like this idea in one way but now that the Horde is a council I feel like a council within a council will be really weird and clunky.

I also like mah Kingdom of Forsaken Lordaeron and don’t want to go democratic up in here. My character’s a Knight damnit I’m loyal to Crown and Country not the President :sob:

You know what I do want though? Constitutional monarchy. Give us a monarchy but limit the powers of the monarch somewhat, much like modern day Britain. That way we’d have an authoritative member of the Horde Council, but one who’ll never have total control over internal Forsaken governance, thus preventing a cult of personality from ever rising again.

Ooooh that sounds neat. You also want a house of lords? It could be a cool way to introduce new Forsaken characters.

Ill be in the house of commons. The constitutional monarchy is a solid idea that…you hear that?

Sounds like fan art coming…

Pictures of Calia and Bolvar sitting on a ledge overlooking Undercity, holding hands, love between them…stop it!

I think Derek’s already in :frowning:

That said I don’t mind. I hope we get Derek to join us honestly, we could use a Grand Forsaken Admiral. That said, fleshing out Tattersail a bit could also be cool. Maybe they could have a rivalry.

Derek isn’t awful but he’s another character with an obvious Alliance bias. Would have been more interesting if he had permanent damage from Sylvanas’ brainwashing attempt.

(Smaller annoyance is that this guy doesn’t look Forsaken enough when he should be super decomposed at the very least)

Ok what does your search history look like LOL

I like maldraxus but as for forsaken to I don’t think it will ever be the same. I was kind of rooting for forsaken imperialism kind of stuff. Not necessarily the scourge trying to convert the world into undeath but I really was digging the forsaken getting way more militant in BFA.

Honestly best solution would have been for Sylvanas not to try to MC the guy in the first place. Almost all Forsaken are former undead humans, so his past as a Second War veteran wasn’t the issue… He could’ve been a really good addition had he been, you know, actually welcomed into the Forsaken.

Agreed. Him being brainwashed was super anti-forsaken and was a major red flag. Was kind of building off the story they were wanting to go with though XD

No more monarchy

The horde and forsaken shall be socialist democracies

Personally, I wouldn’t mind a council of 3 particular people to lead the Forsaken: Alonsus Faol, Natalie Seline, and Calia Menethil.

Each brings something unique but important to the Forsaken:

  • Natalie Seline might initially seem like an odd choice, but she is the originator of the Cult of Forgotten Shadows - a very important religious aspect to the Forsaken. She provides a place for the Forsaken who delves deep into their darkness to find balance in it and not becoming lost to it.
  • Calia Menethil is the most iffy one here as I generally dislike the idea of her as a “Holy Forsaken” anyway. But with the other two characters, she serves a purpose of showing those Forsaken who wish to be more than their undeath, that they can hold on to their hope and their past life while accepting their current life in undeath. If written the right way, she can also be a voice for making up for sins of the past (considering the legacy of his name), something I imagine many Forsaken would like to do. But I feel like renouncing her claims to the throne would be important in establishing the legitimacy of this triumvirate.
  • Alonsus Faol makes it here because he’s a proper Scourged raised, Forsaken freed undead and thus knows that very important aspect to their initial suffering and their lives. More importantly, though, he’s a Disc Priest, as well, so a balance between the other two’s Shadow and Light. Finally and most importantly: he actually uses the freakin’ Forsaken model instead of just being a human with a skin condition.

Lillian Voss meanwhile basically just becomes their voice, representative, or weapon when needed - thus reducing the need to have them all involved in any particular cutscene or quest. Give her a fancy title like Grand Executor or whatever to reflect the job, done.

Last but not least, just say in background lore that the Desolate Council reformed and carries out more legislative stuff for the triumvirate. Thus keeping a neat idea still active in the lore, even if we never really see it - kinda like the Ironforge Senate and such. It’s just good worldbuilding.

Feel free to leave criticism.

You cursed it by calling it the triumvirate.
First, Alonsus Faol will be left behind and it will be mostly split between Calia and Natalie.
Then, because Calia is a Menathil, she is going to fall in love with someone who is considered foreign by the Forsaken and that someone might be using Calia because of her influence.
In the end, Natalie has to go to war against Calia and will win. Making Seline defacto ruler.
