Guardian druid was crap in S1 due to how poorly design our class and spec tree is and the teir set was meh. Since then there was some changes to the spec tree which made it better and also we are getting a really strong tier set so things should be good for us. However, the dungeon pool seems pretty bad for us since a lot of mobs and boss do magic damage which we are bad at.
Is guardian going to fall back to the button barrel again so we will do just fine for KSM. I mean in S1 it was more difficult than other tanks until we outgear the content so we have the hp to take those hits.
Depends entirely on what the tier set is gonna be, not sure if the community vote is being taken into account or not by blizz, but if it is Guardian will be in a very good spot with the S2 tier set, if not and we get either of the other two then its going to feel real bad.
Chances are bear will be better off than they are right now, yet unlikely they will beat out VDH. Prot Pallies are also a bit of a toss up.
Bear is getting a strong tier set that gives them a bit of everything, however two main issues are going to hold it back from the S2 monster everyone remembers.
- Bear took some nerfs along the way due to S2 that have not been restored. This could change, and PTR will provide more info, but bear is not quite as strong inherently as we were then.
- VDH is a vastly better tank for “pull every 2min and blast”. With how good Balance and Resto are, Mark is not hard to get, and bear doesn’t synergize nearly as well with a caster meta as VDH does. Given VDH got Meta reduced to a 2min CD AND has an amazing tier set that they are keeping, chances are VDH will still reign supreme.
Now… everything is subject to changes on PTR and balance tuning, but bear looks like it will be good, but certainly not meta.

If you’re looking to push the highest keys or chase the 1% title, you simply need to switch to whatever the top one or two meta tanks are. If you’re doing your “20s” and maybe pushing a little higher, every tank is more than fine.

True I just hope is not as bad as S1 lol taking Raze means we do less ST damage and we got hit pretty hard with magic attack

Not with the current dungeon pool for S4. Lots of magic/poison damage going out and we’re losing out on a lot of damage and damage reduction from Blazing Thorns.
Well they fixed the Raze OR Maul issue. So we get to take both. But now we’re more susceptible to magic damage again like we were in S1 and S2. And going back into heavy magic damage dungeon pool

Well when you get to play with that set for the first time and do those dungeons in M+ for the first time, maybe you’ll revise your opinion.
Assuming you’re still playing a druid by then.
Unfortunately, those will end up going into the DPS to keep them ticking.

You’re so clueless. At first I thought it was cute. Kinda thinking it’s a condition now.
S1 offered us more magic damage mitigation via nearly 100% uptime in the flat 5% damage reduction. And we ran with high magic damage dungeons (RLP / AV / AA specifically). Didn’t help us any.
S2 we lost that flat DR and gained a little bigger UF shield and 15% health. And all of the DF dungeons from S2 dealing massive magic damage too (especially HoI and Uld), and no real way to deal with it. Guardians weren’t doing well from the S2 tier set, they were doing well because of the powerhouse combinations of Holy Pally and the power house that was Aug Evokers released in 10.1.5.
Season 3 we gained Blazing Thorns which added massive damage and pretty much extended our 10 seconds of Rage the sleeper (25% damage reduction) into a full minute.
And now in season 4, we go back to ALL the high magic damage dungeons, and taking the one tier set that doesn’t actually give us any direct damage reduction.

If you just prefer the playstyle of S2 tier you can say that. Or if youre just oblivious/unaware/ignorant of the damage profiles of the DF dungeons, you can say that too. The whole siting of trustme.bro just isnt gonna cut it.
Paladin will always be a solid choice. Theyre always an A+ tank simply from all the utility and healing the have. Not to mention the dime piece that is Divine Toll

It’s highly comical that you’ve been following him around and posting how bad he supposedly is for weeks, and yet you have the same mythic + score. You can try and backtrack all you want now (I raid and only do mythic + for vaults, blah blah blah), but you’re only making yourself look worse.

Pally will likely be a very good choice. How they implement their tier bonus since they picked the first tier of DF for their set remains to be seem.
