Thinking of coming back to retail how is ED now days pop wise? Still and RP guilds about?
I have no clue on the population sharding makes it hell to know
RP guilds I see are Redwood Tribe, Shattered something, The Ashen Vale, Excusia, CBH, drunken fishermen, the hounds, the gnomish army, and sea doggos (But I only been back 1 week since my break, and those are just the ones I saw at barnight. but hope that helps you somewhat.)

I am personally only on classic for some friends. And that my break from wow coming back a bit overwhelmed with unlocking everything and my bags are full and i died in a horde cave in nazjatar and too lazy to escapez. 
though i do really like many people i met in classic so far but waiting for their bad side to show—Aglaica

I think if I still knew folks who actively played wow retail, then I would pop back in once or twice a week, to run BGs or mythics, or to see if any meaningful wpvp was possible (with the abysmal crossream stuff and sharding, I don’t know if that is a thing anymore). I’ll always look back at ED with fondness, but the people I played here with regularly have moved on, and so returning would be kind of empty unless I went out and made some new chums to run stuff with.
Retail looks gorgeous, and I want it to be something I liked again, but there are so many things wrong with it.
But yeah, I miss ED.

The community is smaller now, but there is absolutely still a very real sense of server community on ED compared to normie servers.
Don’t let classic doomers who actively avoid social interaction on retail to sustain their confirmation bias fool you.

Cool! Can you point me in the direction of where some of that is going down? Seriously. I would still like some involvement with my old retail characters and my old retail server.
Ashen Vale, Salty Sea Doggos is where I would go if I was on alliance side to hook up with ED happenings.
