What changes would you make to the game to improve casual pvp?
Remove premades…
minimum ilevel requirements at every level for every bracket.
There’s too many pvp game modes and too many World of Warcrafts.
This leads to them hyperfocusing the only pvp aspects they do care about while virtually ignoring everything else.
There’s so much that could be done but they’ve spread themselves thin like butter scraped over too much bread. They’re just lost.
enforce the party limit and ban the exploitrs to make ebgs great again
they need to make the gear barrier to entry as low as possible, ilvl differences need to be narrowed or removed, more rewards, for example they should add an off color seasonal mount you get from unrated, perhaps 1% per win the way the rated mount works.
they also need to make it so people stop afking, or maybe give a check box for fresh games only, or both. but backfilling into a rotating backfill isn’t fun, it doesn’t matter if its vs premade or not, a lot of people just instantly /afk if it doesn’t look like a win, backfilling in feels like being asked to take someone else’s L. turn arounds happen, but very rarely, and not enough to justify wasting people’s time backfilling them into a game with set momentum.
slow down burst, fights need to be a lot more methodical and thought out, less mongo burst, people don’t learn from being dropped in 2 seconds from 70 yards away by a hunter or deleted by a displacer go in an epic.
there are casual premades. i really think they should allow raid groups to queue, a lot of the problems that plague pvp atm are a result of the high demand for premades but the inability to cleanly queue as a raid. the playerbase clearly wants to premade. if they allow raid queueing you instantly no longer have issues of splits and partial starts, or games that start with only 10/40 people filled.

Solo q rated bgs would solve 70% of the problem. I think they can do the normal BG speed but 8x8 with the mechanics from solo q blizz. For example: Eye of Torment being with normal cap speeds but with 2 bases available and mid at a time. Also, they could do it with only one healer and one tank. I have no doubt it would be crowded of ppl and would be a lot fun. After the success, they can try it 10x10, create new maps and so on…
These kind of rated content will problably solve a lot of problems and stop casual and average players from whining.
-
Im sure qeue times will be shorter since ppl will enjoy the content;
-
We know that its impossible to balance a game with so many specs, bgs wil reduce it due to the amount of players. (Of ourse some specs will be better than others but the impact would be less compared to arenas and rss)
-
Average players can feel good by playing the specs they love without worrying about meta;
-
Easier and fun way to get conquest
-
Less toxicity
etc
I have no doubts that it would improve the pvp aspects of this game. A lot of ppl struggle in RSS and arenas, a lot of ppl love pvp but know they can never achieve glad, a lot of ppl just want what we all look for in a game with rankings: feel fun while doing the proccess.
Please Blizzars consider it

I would remove conquest gear. Just get honor and be BiS, that’s enough of gear progress. Maaybe only leave conquest weapons.
I would then add some sort of season battle pass system where you unlock cosmetics and stuff. Maybe even give something useful like gold every 5 levels. But that will make bots farm gold so maybe not. We have honor levels, but the gaps between rewards are way too big.
I would also make BGs crossfaction, to streamline the experience, and make sync queue premading harder.
Maybe add MMR while we’re at it, to try to give average player good winning chance over several games. Then again average mmr over 40 players is probably not going to be useful. But premading needs to be solved somehow. Because right now epics are unplayable if you’re solo, for example.
I actually played with you on the same premade a few months back under a different char, and I can confirm that that premade specifically scouted for other premades to fight. But I fear that there are many other premades that seek to stomp pugs specifically unfortunately. I feel like a lot of players like that feeling of power when they play in premades. Plus I wonder if premade queues are going to be astronomical. But it’s something I guess.
It would be a non casual content to attract casual players. It would be rated, would give prizes like mogs and title related to the specific content. However, the center of pvp would still be 3x3, the best titles and rewards the same way it is.
These Bgs would atract more players and who knows if they get interested in playing arenas aswell.
About toxicity, people feel better when someone rages at a group of people than raging directly against them exclusively in a ss match, being trained and farmed 6 rounds

Extend comp stomp to a few more maps and create a casual practice/honour gear up mode. Minimal or no conquest.
Peeps can quickly grind out a set of honour gear against the bots, and get a taste for some of the BGs if they’re new to it. Could wrap a few quests and a lite tutorial around it.
I queue a variety of pvp content (as well as wpvp on the side) and I am seeing this everywhere. And that’s just retail!
The absolute best thing they could do is incentivize people to play. Good ol’ fashioned natural inflation. But from a business perspective, to them a sub is a sub and they don’t really care where people go to. It’s all the same to them.
I’m starting to think the game designers might not be playing PVP much. If they are, it seems they’re missing the mark on what needs changing or improving.
For instance, why add more currencies when there’s already a surplus of honor points waiting to be used? And the introduction of Blitz—it feels like a missed opportunity. We asked for solo queue rated battlegrounds without altering the game mechanics, not a whole new system.
It also appears that casual PVP players aren’t a priority. The addition of various currencies adds complexity, particularly for newcomers, which could be simplified.
On the bright side, there’s room for improvement:
- Why not introduce more maps? There’s a treasure trove of zones that could be adapted for PVP, adding fresh scenery to the mix. Nagrand can use the base PVP Map for Ashran. It’s time for a dungeon style PVP with lots of choke, Zaralek Cavern style. Maps could be unlimited. This is where AI can help them with random PVP map generation.
- Also, tweaking PVP talents could offer a solution to balance out any PVE talents that currently dominate in PVP settings.
Just some thoughts on how we could enhance the PVP experience for everyone.
By making CTF in the Boralus Hedge Maze a brawl map.
Cross faction Q’s
Remove group queing
Remove specific queing
Combine all bgs into one random que again.
Remove conquest caps
Shrink the ilvl difference between honor/conquest gear.
Remove the ability to bring exterior advantages into bgs. I.e. world buffs, crafted gear, ridiculous pve trinkets/gear with some crazy perk thats op.
Basically make things more even on the battlefield.
A new bg map and arena map every expansion. Maybe even more frequently then that.
Not make people lose 300-400 mmr for someone else leaving when you’re still in placement matches. Literally burn everything to the ground and start over, whatever team in charge just doesn’t know.
Rated 1v1 (dueling). Queue times could be nearly instant.
