How would you guys feel about Blizzard adding a "Barber-shop" function to Vanilla Classic?

I know that’s totally outside the scope of “what the game is”, so I can totally respect if folks think that would be a bridge too far. Even as someone who loves transmog, I recognize that it would completely destroy the atmosphere and spirit of Vanilla.

But I sort of feel like being able to at the very least, adjust your hairstyle, would be pretty fantastic. It’s kind of a bummer to be stuck with a hairstyle and just kind of wondering if you would prefer something else at higher levels. If I ever managed to get the T3 set on my Warrior, I kind of wonder if I’ll still like my hairstyle, or if I’d prefer something different?

(I went with the “Barbarian” hairstyle, because I think it looks so much cooler than the version we eventually got in the WoD updated models, but it also looks a bit goofy from the back…)

But like I said, just curious where you guys stand!

As much as I would love it as I love changing hair styles and playing dress up with my characters, I think it very much is a ‘‘bridge to heck’’ style of change. Change for the sake of change almost, which is against the ethos of era realms.

Nah, it is proto-transmog and will somehow come with a cash shop.

They should make no changes.

But if they do, they should only add are things that can actually truly improve the game, like ranked queue with player-based MMR.

Retail is there for people that need to play dress-up to the degree which they can continuously alter the look of their toon beyond using diff gear / consumes. I wouldn’t mind if they added a potion that did hairstyle change temporarily but I still think it fall into the ‘change for sake of change’ duckling metions.

I dislike changing the game because we the players are all different and want something different to improve the game.

Trouble is, when you give everyone just one thing each, you absolutely end up with retail.

One change is simply contagious and its how you catch retail, get sick of it and quit to go play vanilla unblemished on one of those naughty servers.

If we the players can’t push back even against the stuff we personally like, then we are lost because we become corrupt and cave into the temptation of chaos and end up in one of those dirty cults.

They’re called the fingers of the shadow council you uncultured hippy, go eat a light beam paladin

I don’t think it belongs in Classic Era.

Use to be a mud but dwelling zug, but then I discovered Stone floors and fine furnishings, BUT you got me tempted back to the voodoo lounge where we… Crap now that track is back in my head…

I eat two dwarves in the mornin, I eat two dwarves ate night, I eat two dwarves in the afternoon…

Thing is, the modern blizzard team poisons everything they touch, so don’t think about it. Classic Era is fine as-is.

Fair enough! I also agree it could easily be a slippery slope. And I suppose it encourages really putting thought into your character’s appearance before you start, so I can get that.

I don’t think we need to really consider slippery slope, or even no changes, for something like this. I mean, we don’t really want big changes for Era but I we can still objectively discuss them and what they mean for the game that Era is. Just because we talk about it doesn’t mean you support putting changes in.

I’m against things like transmog because the armor your character wears has meaning. It’s a part of the visual power representation this game has and it conveys information to other players. That ranges from, “Hey maybe I shouldn’t attack this person!”, to, “Oh wow, that person clears Naxx on a regular basis, maybe I want to see if their guild is recruiting.”

I can’t say the same for your character’s actual appearance. Hair style and colour absolutely makes sense to change, but your actual character details are only really consequential to you and you alone, nobody else. It’s not really going to matter that much if people change them. At least not to me.

Facts.

You may or may not enjoy Alfons - Voodoo Lounge.

Lol at times its a struggle for a Q to Pop there is not enough of a player base
Making an MMO competitive doesn’t work
PvP works in an MMO to a degree but making it competitive play isn’t the way

You can change all of those things now. Reroll.

Absolutely no mention of why people actually are requesting this?

It’s so when people buy an account, they can customize the character’s look after the purchase.

No to barber shop. No to guild banks. No to all the other stuff that RMTers are asking for.

I would support faction changes

They can drop it in Classic+ or whatever they call the next iteration.

I’m pro all WOTLK quality of life functions in vanilla :metal:
