Pretty much title
For example:
They delayed Warcraft III to next year, first promising expected or before December 31st. Promised sometime in 2019 at Blizzcon 2018.
Then said expected by December 31st. Now its delayed till next year.
Is this what to expect for Shadowlands and blizzard in general? What does General Discussion think if Blizzard did this should Shadowlands be delayed?
Might as well move on to WoW II

Estimates are just rough predictions. In the end it’ll be ready when it’s ready, an extra month of polish time can’t hurt for WC3. Just means it’s not ready right now.
Expansions are usually out well before their estimated times so I really don’t think it’ll go into 2021.

That wasn’t a promise, that was put there for pre orders.

If it made the game more solid, then push it as far as it needs to be pushed. Push it real good.

If that’s the time it takes to bring back Blizzard polish, then fine by me.
There are other games in the meantime.

This used to be Blizzard’s motto too. People were fine with waiting however it took to release a Blizzard game because they knew it’d be great, thanks to this mentality. Then WoD and BFA happened where it was clearly rushed, not thought all the way through, and overall disappointing.

Honestly I’m already bored out of my mind waiting for crap. So I’m starting to think I need a new game anyway.
BFA was released several months early and that ended up causing the vast majority of players running into bugs. More polish = better game. I would love if they took an extra year to work on shadowlands as long as it meant a better experience than bfa launch.
Delaying a game is never easy, its really not. It is costly for the company in question, it can be upsetting to some people, no one “wants” a game to be delayed.
However, I personally believe the following words.
I would much rather Blizzard delay something to put extra work into it than to rush it out and have it bomb. If a delay happens it happens for a reason and I would rather Blizzard delay something to make sure they provide a better product.

This is why you don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. However WoW players have very little taste when it comes to playing anything else. It’s kind of disgusting to play with such small minded individuals.
There are lots of good video games out there, just cancel your sub til they add content/patches and broaden your palette.
You know considering last time i got WoD i’d rather a game be a finished and playable game than a empty game with content droughts, but i wouldn’t want the prior expansion to be in development hell without at least a half or miniboss raid or something new going on for it. I’d rather see blizzard polish return if it ever could, maybe with a fun or at least something new every 3-4 months to do or a new dungeon.
It would be a lot more costly to Blizzard if Warcraft 3 Reforged flopped and they had to try and re-release it after making fixes.
So I’m happy they’re doing this.
Regardless I am honestly considering the refund, not necessarily because of the delay but because they have offered for not meeting their deadline. I doubt I will have much time to play it anyhow.
I’d feel happy to know they didn’t rush it and push trash out.
It was delayed by only a month…
Honest question, are people actually upset about that? Because the Beta did not look anywhere near approaching “finished” quality. Even model portrait functionality was practically non-existent.

Next year? omg! that’s such a major deal!
It’s only delayed 1 month past the promised date.
It was a patched together demo a year ago, still having the bugs worked out and they are remastering the main game and the expansion.
Big deal
Well its a pre-order with full purchase and blizzard is California based company in general they are under a partial legal obligation now for the on or before dec. 31st. If they delay that date for further they can no longer deny any form of refund as per law. I doubt they want put themselves into that mess, and have considered the date carefully.
Pre-orders without full purchase can be delayed as much or as long as a company sees fit without recourse.
That’s usually a place holder, and things get delayed all the time, everything from books to videogames.
WC III is releasing Jan 28th, fyi.
They couldn’t do that anyway. You can’t deny a person a refund for a product they never received. That’s called fraud.
