How would YOU end this faction war? No trolls please

With Teldrassil burned and NEs having become some weird versions of their old selves hellbent on revenge (please oh please make it so NE become xenophobes like they were back in WC3)

Sylvanas pissing off everyone on both sides.

Multiple Warfronts left (Barrens, Silvermoon, Azshara) well as far as we know… hopefully they don’t get scrapped.

Meanwhile Saurfang and Andiun are planning something which may… again… have the Horde and Alliance kiss and make up. Which I really can’t imagine Blizzard pulling off and expecting people to accept it.

The only solution I see is if both Forsaken and NEs getting a new revamped home. Maybe its a heritage armor for each respective race.

Well how do you think all this should end?
And no… no old god forcing everyone to join hands.
That’s way too easy of an answer. Lets assume the war is on going.

I somehow get the feeling that ‘Kumbya’ rather grates on N’zoth’s nerves. That said… I suspect it ends in disgust after Sylvanas attacks Stormwind and then some Deus ex Machina occurs.

a bunch of angry wisp pulling an “archimonde” and nuking orgrimmar. revenge for teldrassil!

but a more realistic scenario, both sides fractured, apocalyptic azeroth and just a bunch of npcs survives until we find a way to revert or save everything.
but if that doesn’t happen just don’t go back to hold hands and fix everything.
maybe a really temporary peace or a continuation about rebuilding all things that have been destroyed.

How can we end this war without trolls when there an entire continent this expansion :stuck_out_tongue:

In all seriousness, Sylvanas does something reall dumb and leaves the horde (You can have an alliance quest about killing her after she leaves, I Dont Care, just dont leave us with Calia) We get Thrall or Vol’jin back as warchief (Less because i like thrall and more because our other options are Saurfang and Baine, while Vol’jin is mostly because he got a really raw deal in legion, who then pays reperations to the alliance, signs a bloody non-agression pact, and everyone gets their old territories back, except the alliance keeps gilneas.

We then spend time just rebuilding our faction and actually trying to develop stories for the future, instead of pulling new villains out our butts whenever we get low.

If Alliance players have to put up with Andiun who seems to be perpetually 2 seconds away from crying I am sure the Forsaken can survive Calia.

Lol.
Let us suffer together sister.

At that level of xenophobia, they become unplayable as members of a multi-race faction. Regression is not what I think is best.

Mutually assured destruction.

I dont think so. NPCs just looking down at you or other races who failed to help them sound like a lot of fun.

I wouldn’t. I’d let the Alliance get their big hit on Zul’drazar and Darkshore. I’d have Sylvanas removed from power by a returned Vol’jin, maybe removed from the faction entirely and turned into a neutral thread, then I’d have the story switch focus to the Black Empire.

Next expansion the war is still ongoing but now under near Horde leadership. The Alliance feels like they’re still getting revenge against the evil Horde, the Horde feels like they’re fighting for their lives against the Alliance.

Have it look like Doctor Manhattan blew up Stormwind and Orgrimmar to get the Alliance and Horde to join forces against him.

I would just end it. I would have the alliance just split off and do their own thing on the EK. I never want to interact with the horde again. Blizzard writes the alliance as stupid and incompetent whenever they’re involved with the horde and its annoying. Just let the factions be seperate.

The most important things that need to happen are:

  1. The Night Elves get their territory back. I would prefer if we take it back through military victory over the Horde, but I’m not too picky. As long as the war ends with Darkshore and Ashenvale returned to their rightful owners (with minimal Blight damage, hopefully.) The kingdom of Gilneas should be completely restored as well. So long as these two things happens, I would be happy to let the Forsaken have Lordaeron back.

  2. Sylvanas is removed from power. Not necessarily killed, but I don’t think there can ever be faction peace if Sylvanas continues to have political power within the Horde. Exiling her will allow her story to continue, while at the same time removing her as a threat to the Alliance. I guess Nathanos can be the Forsaken leader, if there are no better options.

  3. We need a new Warchief that Alliance players can trust to not be completely evil, while also still commanding the respect of Horde players. Thrall, Vol’jin, Lor’themar would all be good choices. Saurfang might work too, but I think he has too much baggage.

If these things happen, I think we will be able end the war acceptably for both factions.

I honestly don’t know, it would have to end in a way that satisfies both factions, which i can’t think of any outcome that does that right now.

An ending that would satisfy me would be:

Sylvanas dead. Redeeming her is worse for obvious reasons, imo having a SoO 2.0 plot would be less damaging in the long run than kerrigan 2.0, and atleast she would act in character during her death and not be redeemed or lightforged. I wouldn’t really care who the new warchief is, as long as it’s not baine or saurfang. I’d be okay with thrall, but i’d rather have Vol’jin back but that’s unlikely.

Horde and Alliance either merged or broken into four. There would be grouping with any race so you can quest and do instances etc, but the factions they belong to would be Alliance/Horde (or in the case of breaking the factions, night elf and undead faction, and old horde old alliance ones). Alliance would control most of the Eastern Kingdoms and the Horde would control most of Kalimdor. So the factions would technically be at peace but not fully unified.

Oh and justice for Night Elves.

gameplay wise or lore wise?

How its actually going to end, Saurfang is going to kill Sylvanas, the horde is going to return all the land they took, anduin will return the any land he took, we forgive the horde, and then the nelves built a new tree and become more militaristic than ever, the alliance becomes more parnoid about the horde, and there, it ends nice with a nice point to bring back the faction war in the future with the alliance attacking the horde out of fear first. If blizzard so wishes.

A status quo reset and laying the groundwork for a shift in Alliance characterization that the majority of the Alliance will hate.

I admit, it’s a bold theory. But do you really think Blizzard is brave enough to render this expansion meaningless?

They done it with every xpac

can’t really give back the UC.

Theramore, Warchief Garrosh, the Alliance being an Alliance, just off the top of my head those are some changes that have never been undone.

garrosh is dead, and the alliance is still the alliance?
