Hey there,
There’s a team in my meta that seemingly can’t really be beat, and to top it off, the guy running it has his pets named in provocative ways to get a rise out of people. Just an overall scumbag I wouldn’t mind… eradicating from the queue.
The team is:
Fiendish Imp (S/S)
Tottle
Kunchong Hatchling
Between the forced swap of the imp, AoE damage of pheromones and Shell Rush on the backline, double Shell Armors for ridiculous staying power, and even a gigantic single target nuke in Pump, the team literally has seemingly everything. I’ve only been queuing PvP since the summer so still learning how to craft teams, but I can’t figure this one out and the guy’s flat out annoying.
Anyone better at PvP battles than me that has a solid counter to this?

Wicked Soul was basically invented to counter the Imp. He’s faster, so you can cast Curse of Doom before he swaps you out. If he decides to cast Immolation, it gives you a chance to Haunt him.
After that, I’m probably using a Flyer to counter Tottle and a Mech to counter the Hatchling. You have a few options here. You probably want a flyer that can cast Call Darkness to mitigate the Imp’s self heal. An MPD or DM Zep can use decoy to slow his AOE attacks.
If he’s an Experienced battler, he probably has a hard counter team, so be prepared for that too.
It’s a hard team to beat, but not impossible. I’d also suggest having a few similar teams ready. He’s more likely to hard counter you if he knows you are lying in wait. If you successfully counter him, don’t come right back at him. That way you are more likely to get more wins out of it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m wondering if I can work these in while still being able to be competitive against Anomalus and other aoe spammers.
